Bandai UK Attends UK Toy Fair 2023 & Brings Impressive Tamagotchi Display

It’s toy fair season! Bandai UK attended the UK Toy Fair 2023 this week. The UK Toy Fair is the UK’s largest dedicated toy, game and hobby trade show which is held annually. Similar to last year, where Bandai UK brought the unannounced and unreleased Tamagotchi Pix Party, and pictures got out. It looks like this year they are being more careful.

UK Toy Fair 2023 was held from Tuesday, January 24th 2023 through Thursday, January 26th, 2023, at Olympia London, a beautiful venue that hold the over 20 vendors. Bandai UK was at stand N17 and had quite an impressive Tamagotchi display!

The Tamagotchi display featured a bunch of Tamagotchi’s, more than we can count and more than are currently available in the UK! Bandai UK brought TinyTAN, Demon Slayer, Kingdom Hearts, Jujutsu Kaisen, Spy x Family, Hatsune Miku, Jurassic World, Star Wars, Grogu, Toy Story, Hello Kitty, and Tokyo Revengers Tamagotchi!

That’s right, Bandai UK hasn’t even announced some of those, and they were on display at the UK Toy Fair 2023! We even got a closeup look at the upcoming Tokyo Revenger Hug My Tamagotchi sets, which is the first time we are seeing them in person! All four were on display, including the two latest, Takemichi Hanagaki, and Chifuyu Matsuno. This confirms that these will be making their way into the UK, and if our memory serves is correctly, it’ll be the first Hug My Tamagotchi set in the UK!

If you look carefully at the picture above and pay close attention to the Tamagotchi Original section, you can see some new shells! Keep in mind it wasn’t too long ago where we saw some new Tamagotchi shell preorders drop on Amazon, and other retailers such as Greattoysonline and Hubbyte. We spy the Tama Universe, Memphis Style, and Garden Poppies shells for sure. There are some that we do not recognize and might be the ones we saw pop up online late last month, including Berry Delicious, Starry Night, and Kuchipatchi Comic Book.

Marugame Udon Waterloo Station Opening Tamagotchi Challenge

Marugame Udon, the largest Udon Noodles chain in the world recently opened a new (8th) location in Waterloo Station, London! To help celebrate, Marugame Udon gave away 100 Tamagotchi Original’s to the first 100 guests that were queued up to enter the restaurant on opening day, January 12th, 2023. Tamagotchi and stay out int he cold, waited in queue in hopes to get their hands on a free Tamagotchi, and a delicious bowl of udon noodles!

The first 100 guests that got their hands on the Tamagotchi Original, and one of the newer shells too we may add, would earn additional prizes based on how they cared for their Tamagotchi. How awesome is this?

The official Tamagotchi UK account posted a video of the rather impressive line! These guests had to keep their Tamagotchi’s alive in exchange for a delicious prize! If they kept their Tamagotchi alive for 7 days, they would earn a free breakfast Udon, and for 28 days, they would get free udon for a year!

Caretakers have to post a picture of their Tamagotchi’s lifespan along with their unique number tag on social media by February 12th, 2023. In return, Marugame Udon would send out the prizes to qualifying winners! Talk about an awesome restaurant opening!

Bandai UK Partners with Bulldog Licensing for New Licensing Program

The agency, Bulldog Licensing based in London, will build a portfolio of hand-picked licenses to expand the world of Tamagotchi for consumers and the army of devoted fans. The licensing program that they create for Bandai UK will introduce new products with the iconic Tamagotchi brand.

Bulldog Licensing’s team will be exploring partnerships in a range of sectors, including publishing, apparel, homewares, gifts, stationery, and more. Bandai UK will continue to introduce the Tamagotchi brand to new fans with the latest Tamagotchi devices.

Rob Corney, Managing Director of Bulldog Licensing, commented: “A brand as iconic as Tamagotchi is a fantastic addition to our portfolio. The wealth of assets makes this the perfect property to build a meaningful, impactful and fun consumer products programme. We are really excited to present Tamagotchi to our best-in-class licensing partners and create a wider Tamagotchi world for consumers to enjoy.”

Bulldog Licensing was so excited they even mentioned the news at the Branding Licensing Europe event a few days ago in London! Event employees at the booth were talking to visitors at stand A202.

We cannot wait to see how Bulldog Licensing will help expand the Tamagotchi brand over the pond! We’ve always said that we need more Tamagotchi accessories and swag, and we might just be getting it. Be sure to read the full press release here.

Bandai UK Confirms Q2 2023 Release for Vital Bracelet BE

Bandai UK is certainly showing Digimon some love! The Bandai Shop UK announced that they will be launching the Vital Bracelet BE in the UK for a Q2 2023 release. This confirms Demon Slayer, MHA, and Tokyo Revengers as well. Further information should follow soon.

Bandai UK: Digimon Color Coming to UK in 2023

We love a global launch, and it appears that the UK is in luck. Bandai Shop UK, announced on their official Twitter and Instagram profiles that the Digimon Color v-pet that was just announced by Bandai Japan is set to be released in the UK in 2023! No word on if the device will be localized in the English language, but this is a huge deal!

The Bandai Shop UK does sell other imported products from Japan, so it might be selling the Digimon Color with original Japanese programming. We sure would love to see it localized in English, only time will tell. Who’s excited?

Bandai UK Confirms Limited Volume DIM Card Release

More Digimon love for the UK. Bandai UK shop has announced that the Gammamon, Angoramon & Jellymon, Hermit in the Jungle & Nu Metal Empire, and Dynast of the Evil along with the DIM Card holsters will be available soon in limited volumes. These are excited to be released in the market for Q1 2023!

UK: Tamagotchi Original Featured in Smyths Toys Catalogue 2022!

Each year Smyths Toys, a popular toy retailer in the UK releases a 300 page toy catalogue around mid September with this years hottest toys for the upcoming holiday season. This year the Tamagotchi Original was featured, how fabulous is that? Four shell were featured including Sakura, Flames, Ice Cream, and Logo Repeat!

The Tamagotchi Original is listed at £16.99, and is sure to be a hit this holiday season!

New Tamagotchi Commercial In Production

Bonnie and Betty, a model, talent, and acting agency based in the United Kingdom has just posted on their Instagram profile that their talent is on set for Tamagotchi! The two models are Sophia & Ava, and it looks like they were on set for an upcoming Tamagotchi television commercial on Friday March 18th, 2022!

The agency also tagged Tamagotchi UK, but we would not be surprised if this is a commercial for an upcoming Tamagotchi in other countries. In fact, the Tamagotchi On commercials utilized talent from the United Kingdom as well! We’re super excited to see what new commercial they’ll be in, and we’re sure it’ll be on our television screens soon!
