@whumpuary prompt 13: Left to die / Barely Conscious / "I'm Fine"
Continues from Prompt 7
~
‘They left him to die, John, and he came to me.’ ‘But you’re in the middle of nowhere. How did he know?’ ‘I don’t know. He was barely conscious when and he’s been out of it since.’ ‘I don’t like it, Scott.’ ‘Trap or not, John, the Mechanic needs help.’ ‘Penny and Gordon are on their way.’
Scott turned to see the Mechanic watching him. Before he could ask the man spoke:
‘I’m fine.’ ‘You’re not.’ ‘Nevertheless your brother is right. This feels like a trap and I should leave.’ ‘No - if it’s a trap we’ll be better off together.’
