'Its not your fault, some people are just born broken and incurable'. - My mom yesterday
I hate it so much, how she comforts herself with this ideas, that I may have autism or something else that's been there since I was born and is totally nobodies fault.
I should be thankful, at least she doesn't blame me or accuse me of lying and acting anymore. But like, the woman who's the reason I am the way I am (which is fragmented in my brain) comforts herself that nobody could have prevented me from being mentally ill for years.
People can get this tone when talking about characters whose backstory involves sexual abuse or trafficking and related subjects that gets under my skin soooo bad bc you can tell they see it as something so unspeakably awful and unsurvivable that they are clearly failing to comprehend that it is also something that happens to Real People in Real Life. And if you’ve survived anything remotely like that, it can feel so objectifying and dehumanizing to witness. Most of all I find people who haven’t had those experiences just can’t confront the banality of it. They don’t get it. They have to treat it like something alien and unimaginable.
wow. genuinely nauseous. great television.
This one is to commemorate my Gastrointestinal Disorder that causes me to throw up incredibly frequently (especially when I first wake up in the morning).
Anyway! Vom Life is not the life I chose, but the one I live by. BARF!
watching The Master 2012 and when they're putting on suits and starting to preach to outsiders... this is a very specific thing that happens to men who are kind of losers but find a new position of authority in an outsider sect environment and start wearing suits about it. god this is too familiar. It doesn't matter how different the beliefs are ...the same stiffling atmosphere but also the same public-facing performance of masculinity by people who outside of that religious context would never get that kind of affirmation.
