And in the course of the conversation in the comment section, it was noted that certain ships tend to circulate specific ideas about how Amy Rose's quills should be best styled. Seems the spirit of the discussion is also here, as @lexo-is-pesto posted this excellent visual that honestly made me laugh out loud:

I had casually joked that I wanted to do a data spread to see if such an assumption was actually the case, and, well, I'm not joking anymore.

Private about her family life and birth, Amy Rose the hedgehog is the only child and daughter of her parents whom she remains very close to, having an overprotective father whose presence at times can be suffocating for her which she tells off to him firmly but kindly. One of Sonic's biggest fans and closest friends, she is a romantic at heart, always thinking of happy endings and sweet romances despite her short temper at times. Hardly a damsel and distress but a natural born leader, she more often than not leads and directs her friend group against Eggman's plots and schemes and civilians to safety which sometimes causes her to tend to be bossy and stubborn. Kind at heart however, she tries to lift people up and encourage them in their endeavors.

An omega with a knack for fortune telling, her tarot cards told her that she would surely meet her match and she read them as Sonic being her perfect fit. After years of pursuing, she came to the conclusion that Sonic perhaps is simply to carefree and a bit selfish to care for romance. Coming to accept her love never being reciprocated with someone in love with his reflection until learning that he was in love with his shadow. After accepting and realizing this, she was heartbroken but came to notice Bark-the newest member of her team-who was her perfect match all along whom she would later marry and settle down with ❤️

Artist Note: After two other attempts, I am happy in finally coming around to drawing her in a way I am pleased with. Again, this is simply a work in progress so things may change in the final draft. For the body, I went the same route as I did with Sonic that I will do for all of my upcoming and future Sonic redesigns: compact, more detailing and body definition. For her clothes, I wanted something girly but sporty. Her boot design is drawn from images of her shoes from the Sonic Movie 4 preview and canvas sneaker platform heels. I paired it with thigh high sport socks to offset the shoes and body a bit, breaking up the style. I took her iconic dress and made it into a one piece with frilly sleeves and a pleated or draped skirt with a fluffy petticoat underneath that shows panties with a heart cutout when caught in the wind (we love a tease). Not noticeable from the pose, she has a heart shaped cut out on her top where her breasts are and a heart embossed on her iconic hammer. As hearts are her motif, I had to fit it in there somewhere, even as a simple garterbelt decor piece on her leg. I'm overall happy with her will finish her up along with Sonic by this weekend.
