as I continue with the vampire au, I swear I just need to write a bonus chapter that’s like… all of the barrowguard with them (and possibly thaisha and vaelus, though I imagine they’re focused on other things) just sitting around gossiping about the occtien bullshit

Excellent figures to make up the honour guard for my Wight King. Absolutely loved painting these and I can't wait to paint more; 3 more knights and then my "standard" skeletons. Can't wait!

yo castle torch actually has its shit together though

the idea that they DO actually emphasize bonding with and trusting fellow soldiers as well as martial prowess

interdisciplinary and international and very non-religious

the barrowguard kind of knowing their shit. I mean, after 70 years I don’t know that I’d be fully trusting in the druids to heal the land either. or any institution.

It probably says a lot about me that I love skeletons so much but I don't have time to unpack that; I have more skeletons to paint! 🤣

Yet more shambling horrors from beyond the grave 😁 this time, my bannerman and drummer. Decided to make the drum-skin quite literal with a nice tanned human hide and I'm really pleased with the grubby but ethereal banner 😊 man, I love skeletons! 🤣

Five more Barrow Guard battle ready 😁 I honestly love these miniatures; so much fun to paint and they look so cool - just the correct amount of "shambling horror" in each 🤣

c4e15 spoilers (on the Barrowguard and House Tachonis)

My guess is that House Tachonis isn't too happy with the Barrowguard and it is something that they begrudgingly got on board with because the force would exist without their support anyways. I think they are using the barrowdells, especially the Eternal Night, to collect undead and other types of monsters and I think they would like to get rid of the Barrowguard to ramp up their efforts. This could be why they had 1/3 of the garrison in Castle Torch sent away. House Tachonis wants to get rid of them.
