“A thousand years ago, our ancestors destroyed themselves with weapons of metal, atom, and death. Their descendants were forced to spend centuries in lead homes deep within the earth. But now, the world has changed. We are farmers, townsfolk, knights, and lords. We have reclaimed the earth for ourselves. 

But today, I shall present to you a relic from the past. An ancient practise as old as the earth itself, yet lost to time among the ruins of civilisation. I give you - the magic of Mathematics!”

The world has changed. After the bombs fell and scoured the Earth’s surface for aeons, humanity was forced to hide underground. Generations passed in silence. The youngest of them had no concept of any other life at all. But, when the nuclear winter abated and the bunkers automatically opened, people started to pick up the pieces of where they left off. 

Although most of Anshula’s peers are humble subsistence farmers, she had always wanted more. Picking through the remains of the old world, she sometimes found trinkets and mysterious objects to display in little travelling shows. Her whole world was changed, though, by the discovery of the Relic. It opened her eyes to the magical, lost art of GCSE Mathematics, and her shows grew more and more fantastic as she regailed her audiences with mysterious writings, precisely calculating the length of rooms and angles of thrown projectiles. It was wizardry beyond imagining, and she was the caster.
