We DO need lil bits at the beginning of shows and things on proper—or more proper—pronunciations for *unfamiliar* names, including for domestic works, and any dubbing artists ought to be taught.

With that, there’s cultural information that can be shared, and people from but settled without of the country/area of origin deserve to see this media correctly too.

People DESERVE to have their names treated with respect, not this “haha I can’t pronounce that, lemme anglicize it/give you a nickname.”

MEDIA is a GOOD, ACCESSIBLE RESOURCE to do this through. This includes the news.

This would help children in school have their names pronounced correctly by adults and peers, and people receiving healthcare by al well!

Using the intended audience is no excuse, not with how international the world is but also because of the centuries of migration.

Regardless, however, why wouldn’t… say, Black names or Chinese names deserve to be unchanged?

Why do those people in the country/area of audience not deserve the basic respect and right of having their names pronounced correctly?

Why can’t the important areas of the original work like theme, characterization, and names remain intact?
