I have a headcanon that dennis loves being rocked. he was shy about it at first, but it puts him to sleep so softly. he can't really deny that it works. robby likes when his head is tucked into his neck while he rocks him, and jack prefers to have his head against his cradled against his chest.

I think Jack and Robby love to cradle their boy as much as he loves being cradled. a lapful of sweet, soft Dennis, curling up close like a wriggling puppy. they pet over him with gentle hands, scratch at his scalp, rub any tension out of his back.
the rocking lulls and soothes him like nothing else, til he's practically drooling into robby's neck (or Jack's shoulder ☺️). it's the quickest way to get him to fall asleep on bad days, when his head is too loud and everything is too much. their precious boy is just a little clingier than most— affection starved for years in a way they try to make up for every day.
