9pm game last night After nearly a month off from this rec league, (missed playoffs, maintainence week, bye first week of season).. All you can shoot Curry is back! Let's take a look at this Inbounds pass- @francethefoodie is our three point sniper- you best not leave her open! The hardest part about defending her? We've got all our attention focused on getting her open- look- three screens set- @danny_kenobi @trvrtm and @kristenlinnemeyer I mean we could even have @altman_andy @gumshu23 @bvballgrl25 Setting the screens... The result will be the same 😂 I'll tell you this- doesn't matter how you defend it- she's gonna get open! How tired was I? Look at my reaction to her bucket.. Assist to @matteo_francisco Matt's one of those energy guys. I can always count on him to run the break- and to hit that "turbo" button the moment he sees me with the ball. He attacks the basket and isn't afraid to hit someone to get a rebound. My favorite thing about Matt? His pick and roll. We've been playing together during lunch pickup games, and we've developed a solid 1-2 game 😊. Screen misdirection Play the screen with your teammate. Keep the defense on their toes. And if you catch them sleeping, the bucket is yours. Watch this one closely. My teammates know that if the ball isn't in my hands, I'll be running to set someone a screen. Especially in pickup, the split second reaction is enough to catch the defense off guard. See what we did here- both defenders jump out to guard me, leaving my teammate wide open underneath the basket. Quickly slip the pass between the defenders. Reward your fast break teammates. Reward that effort. Notice the gaps, and when defenders turn their head, and take advantage of the split second opening. Teamwork forces the defense to work harder. Passing advances the ball MUCH faster than dribbling, giving the defense only seconds to react! I put a few markers in this video, to help show my thought process during these situations.
