Art Fight 2024 - Fish Heaven!
This is an unofficial revenge on @bat-snake for the art she made last year! I had this image of Quincy at the aquarium in my head for ages, so I'm glad that I got the chance to draw it! He's such a cutie! 🥰

@bat-snake Ok but what if Zim gives Prisoner 777 his kids back because of Baby??? He loses sight of Baby for like 2 minutes (only to find them smearing butter onto GIR or something) then realizes that the emotional journey he went on trying to find him is 777’s whole life right now. Alternatively, or even both, he shows off Baby to Prisoner 777 similarly to the Tallest, and then slowly realizes that *maybe* showing off your new kid to the guy whose family he’s holding hostage might not be the best idea.
lmao Absolutely Not. zim refuses to learn empathy and the vortians are pivotal for baby’s development; he needs non-robotic siblings and also someone to terrorize at Every Opportunity. baby sees the vortians and activates twisted fr**king cycle path mode
After coming away from Portal 2's ending one more time, I've realized something...what happened to the Companion Cube that was returned to Chell at the very end? Is it just sitting in a corner somewhere in Chell's room or something?
she kicked it as far as she could first thing out of the shed. she’s lucky she didn’t break her foot.
she never understood what GLaDOS was trying to achieve with the bloody thing, and she didn’t care. it was just another reminder of Her.

oh i can understand that!

But wait, if Lord Skullitus is a good guy, then the Heroine who told him that his Dungeon of Horrors failed to amuse her...was he literally just showing off his Dungeon of Horrors to her and she was just upfront and honest about how she felt? And he just wasn't offended and knew she'd like the pets better? *Are they best friends???*
Yeah every line of dialog was non-sarcastic and they hang out all the time
What would you suggest for worldbuilding in a story (fanfic in this case) where the inhabitants have almost nothing in common with humans? They're a highly advanced species, but they need mechanical assistance to travel long distance because of how small they are. But they don't need them for places like their homes, so I have some trouble. Specifically with things like kitchens, where appliances would have to be almost ground-level with them and that could cause trouble with safety.
Hi!
Depends. Are they living alongside humans or in a world of their own?
If the former, then consider how long the two races have coexisted. If it’s been a long time, then it’s possible that they would have found ways to compromise. Whose scale is considered the “right” one? The humans or the other species? (By that I mean, are humans the normal and this other species the ones who have to adjust and live by human standards, or visa versa?)
If they have coexisted for a long time, then that manner of comparison might not exist at all. Humans who have lived as equals to these other people for many generations would likely have developed their technology, their way of living, along a very different route than we have. So you don’t have to try and fit this species into our idea of human life…but the human life of the humans within your story. Does that make sense?
If kitchens are your concern, then try and think of ways that this other race would have created kitchens that worked for their size and way of life. They don’t have to have miniature human kitchens, but technology all their own. Think outside the box!
If you mean the former, and this species does not coexist with humans, then our scale won’t matter. They would have, from the very beginning, done things their own way and in a manner that made sense for them.
You say they need help traveling long distances because of how small they are…but do we not do the same thing? We ride in cars or airplanes for long distances, though what constitutes “long” might be subjective. If a race of giants looked at us needing cars to travel 150 miles, they might laugh and say how that’s merely a five minute stroll for them. See?
When you’re building a world for a new race, it helps to look at it from their eyes and see the origin points for them, and not through the filter of human life. You don’t want to think: “How can I adjust the human world to make it work for this other species?” but “How might this species of developed tech that worked for them?”
Try reviewing my Civilizations brainstorming post as well as my Science & Technology post.
Happy building!
bat-snake replied to your post “err i’m currently watching Lost and Boone looks like Dacre Montgomery...”
Well ain't that just a big ol throwback
this is my first time watching it (disgraceful isn’t it) and am enjoying so far...lock and sawyer are faves
