His eyes were bright like the summer sky – the sort of blue that goes on forever. Bright, like the future he should have had. Bright, like they could make up for all the dark around him.
His eyes were red, vessels broken like the bones of his body. Red, and washed in blood – his own blood. His vision blurred, ate away at the edges even as he tried to stay focused on the timer – on his mother, on dwindling hope.
His eyes were green. Like the sickly glow of a Lazarus pit, or the grass his body was buried under.
A/N: I have completed this ahead of schedule. By a whole whopping day but, hey. I can’t complain about that! Anyways, someone did request a fluff fic of Jason and Bruce just being goofballs as father and son. So here it is! I hope you enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jason was confused. He didn’t know what the hell had gotten into Bruce, but the man wouldn’t stop messing with him. Sometimes when he passed by Jason, whether in the hall or on the couch, he would poke at him or give him a quick tickle. And it was random. He didn’t do it every time so it kept Jason on his toes. Jason was now constantly on edge whenever he was around Bruce. Even out on patrol.
Thankfully, Bruce didn’t mess with him while they were out as vigilantes. They had a reputation to upkeep. Regardless, Jason’s nerves couldn’t handle much more. He didn’t know when Bruce was going to cause an unmanly shriek to rip out of him again.
Unluckily for him, a rare opportunity came that Bruce took advantage of. Jason was minding his business in the kitchen, humming to himself as he reached up into the cabinet to grab a glass. Mistake number one. Mistake number two was not paying attention to his surroundings. As soon as his arm went up, Bruce had silently snuck up behind his unsuspecting son and tickled his armpit.
An inhuman screech ripped out of Jason’s throat as his arm slammed down against his side. He lurched forward slightly to get away only to realize he was trapped by the counter. And the tickling in his armpit didn’t stop. Laughter bubbled out of him like a carbonated drink as he squirmed to get away.
“Dahahahammit Bruhuhuce! Stahahahap it!”
Bruce chuckled warmly at his son’s reaction.
“Now why would I when I’ve only just begun?”
Jason’s eyes snapped wide momentarily as Bruce’s other hand joined the fray right above his hip. He hunched forward against the cold countertop as more hysterical laughter started to flow past his lips. He fought to dislodge Bruce’s hands from his ticklish flesh, to no avail.
“DOHON’T YOU DAHAHAHAHARE!” He cried out as the hand that was lodged in his armpit made its way down to join the other near his hips. He’s knees felt like they were about to buckle if this continued. Bruce was having the time of his life tickling the crap out of his edgelord child.
“Give me a reason why I shouldn’t. You hardly ever laugh anymore, much less smile. It’s a nice change to see.” Bruce commented, noting the flush that appeared on Jason’s ears.
“IT TIHIHIHIHICKLES! NOHOHOW STAHAHAHAP IT YOHOHOU ASS!”
“That’s the point, though!” Bruce laughed along with him as he finally clawed into his hips. The absolute scream that came out of him could’ve shattered glass. Jason went down to the ground after that, Bruce following suit with his tickling fingers. Jason tried as hard as he could to squirm away, but he was weakened by his own laughter.
“NOHOHOHOHO! NOHOHOT THEHEHERE! BRUCE NOHOHOHOHO! PLEHEHEHEASE! I SURRENDER! STAHAHAHAHAP!”
After a couple of minutes of screeching hysterical laughter, Jason had tears in his eyes and his face was almost as red as his helmet. Bruce knew it was time to stop when his laughter became hoarse and hiccupy. He stilled his fingers, smiling as he looked down at Jason with fondness.
“Been a long time since I’ve heard you laugh that hard. I missed that smile.” He ruffled his hair as he stood up. Jason groaned, laying a hand on his stomach as his other arm draped over his red face, soft giggles still escaping his smiling lips.
“I just wanted some orange juice, man…” He grumbled out. Bruce laughed.
“Sorry. You were wide open. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.” He helped Jason up, patted his back, and left the kitchen so Jason could get his juice in peace. Little did The Bat know, Red Hood’s revenge would be swift and ruthless.
Title: Like a Hinge, Like a Wing
Chapter Summary: Tim goes home.
Fic Summary: The problem is that Tim’s spent the past month or so slowly getting murdered. (AKA, An AU where Jason never went to Ethiopia, and Tim takes a different road home to the Waynes.)
One last run, y'all. Final chapter is up. I'll be in and out on here all afternoon, so please feel free to come and yell at me. Let's get this sad little guy home.
A/N: I had gotten this request for the sentence starters I think it was? 2.”Your laugh is so cute and 8. “It’s embarrassing!” with Lee!Jason, Ler!Dick. I apologize for it taking so long! I hope you enjoy it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is what he gets for minding his business. All he wanted to do was workout in the bat cave in peace. Well, if you count blaring music as peaceful. But that was apparently too much to ask. He should’ve known that it wouldn’t be a normal workout when Dick sauntered in unbeknownst to him. Oh no. The man just had to mess with him!
Jason was in the process of doing pull-ups when he felt fingers flutter against his sides. With a loud yelp, he dropped down from the bar, stumbling back slightly. A low chuckle alerted him to his assailant. He growled, turning around to face his brother.
“What the hell, Dick!?” He huffed at him. Dick just smiles innocently at him.
“What? It looked like you needed the extra challenge today.”
Jason sighed shaking his head at him.
“That doesn’t mean you tickle me you weirdo.”
“Aw…but why not? Your laugh is so cute!”
Jason flushed at that sentence. He hated his laugh. He felt like it didn’t suit him at all. Bright, boisterous, bubbly, and contagious. That’s how the others have described it. He turned away from Dick mumbling as he attempted to return to his workout.
“It’s not cute. It’s embarrassing.” The instant those words left his mouth, he regretted it. Wincing at his own words he slowly turned to face his older brother, who had suddenly appeared mere centimeters away from him. He knew Dick was going to take that as a challenge.
The grin on Dick’s face sent a chill down Jason’s spine.
“Oh? It’s embarrassing?” He cracked his knuckles. “Well I, and several others, beg to differ my dear Jaybird.” Oh fuck. Jason swallowed hard as wiggling fingers descended upon him like vultures. He didn’t even have a chance to run.
Dick tickled up and down his sides as Jason fought down the giggles, attempting to squirm away. Dick clicked his tongue in disapproval.
“Don’t try to fight it! We both know you’re too ticklish to last long.” The speed of his tickling increased as he traveled up his ribs. Soft giggles pushed past Jason’s defenses with no hope of stopping them.
He knew Dick was right. Obviously, he wasn’t going to keep his laughter at bay for much longer.
“Dihihihick, stahahahap it!” Jason giggled out taking a few steps back from him, trapping himself between his torturer and the exercise equipment. He realized his mistake a little too late. Dick chuckled, his hands never leaving Jason’s torso as he continued to tickle him silly.
He targeted his stomach, resulting in a girlish squeal. Dick laughed along with Jason.
“Oh my god! That was so cute! Do it again!”
Jason started swatting at his hands, too giggly and disoriented to really fight him off.
“Stahahahap! Dihihick please! I juhuhuhuhust wanted to- AH!” He yelped as he tripped over his own foot, bringing Dick down with him.
Both of them laid there stunned for a moment before they both cracked up laughing. Jason shoved Dick off of him as he sat up.
“Didn’t know I could make you clumsy just by tickling you.” Dick chuckled, leaning back on his hands.
“Shut up. That was totally uncalled for,” Jason huffed at him. He groaned as he sat up, rubbing his stomach. “Now my abs hurt and it wasn’t even ab day, you absolute asshole.”
Dick laughed softly.
“Sorry. I just like hearing you laugh. Alfred said he’s making your favorite for lunch so you better not run off after you’re done.” Dick stated as he stood up and headed for the stairs. He smiled as he saw Jason quickly jump to his feet to follow.
“Hell yeah! I love Alfred’s cooking!”
Both of them continued on up into the manor to enjoy lunch and mutual company.
A/N:I had gotten a couple requests to do some Jason and Bruce fluff. After my damn phone ate the other one I was writing, I had to start all over. So here it is! I hope you enjoy!
Content Warning: Mentions of PTSD episode.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jason noticed everyone being a bit more gentle with him here recently; more affectionate. Gentle pats on his back or shoulders. An affectionate ruffle of his hair. Hell, they even hugged him a few times. Even the resident hell spawn was joining in on it. Bruce was the one who initiated a good majority of the affection though. It weirded him out slightly but he can’t say he really blames them. Everyone had witnessed him having a PTSD episode a few days ago. Literally everyone in the manor had seen it happen. No one could get him to calm down, except Bruce.
It took a while, but Bruce finally brought his son back to the present reality with gentle words of safety and a grounding touch on his arms. Moments like those, Jason was glad Bruce was around. Bruce was there the night it happened so he’s the one who understands the most what Jason goes through in those dark terrifying moments.
Even though it had been a few days, Jason was, unfortunately, still dealing with the side effects of it. It annoyed him to no end. He was sleep deprived, anxious, and a tad jumpy as well as disassociating frequently. Bruce came into the kitchen to see Jason leaning against the counter, eyes blank as he stared off into space. The coffee mug he held in his hand was becoming precariously balanced between his fingers. Bruce frowned slightly and walked over to him, taking the coffee mug.
“Jay. No offense, but you look awful. When’s the last time you slept?”
Jason glanced at him, dark circles under his eyes. He shrugged wordlessly at him as his eyes fell to the floor. Bruce sighed softly and grabbed the sleeve of Jason’s hoodie.
“Come on. We’re going to get you to sleep. I’m going to wear you out,” he stared as he lead Jason into the living room.
Jason followed him without protest. This was not normal for him. Bruce knew he had to be tired if he didn’t even argue about it. They sat down on the couch, Bruce laying Jason’s head on a pillow in his lap. Jason continued to stare straight ahead until Bruce’s fingers lightly trailed across his back.
Bruce smiled softly as he saw Jason physically relax into the touch and close his eyes. This kept going for a while. Everything was quiet and calm, Jason looked so peaceful. However, he wasn’t on the verge of sleep like Bruce had hoped. He could tell by his breathing pattern. He wasn’t entirely sure what else to do until he noticed it; a flinch when he got too close to Jason’s side. A smile slowly crept its way upon his lips again.
Knowing it might backfire, Bruce took the chance anyways. With a feather light touch, Bruce started spidering his fingers against Jason’s side. Immediate boyish giggles came flooding out of Jason’s mouth as he flinched again, but he didn’t move to stop the tickling. His arms wrapped around the pillow and hugged it tightly to his chest as he giggled.
Bruce chuckled at this, his fingers traveling a little lower to his stomach. Jason’s giggles increased as he flopped over on to his back. Bruce took in Jason’s expression. His eyes closed, cheeks slightly flushed, a big smile on his lips, his nose slightly scrunched up. He looked like a kid again. A yelp brought Bruce out of his thoughts. Jason had curled up and grabbed Bruce’s wrist as it tickled too close to his lower stomach; his giggles turned into actual laughter.
“Bruhuhuhuce! Dohohohon’t go ahahahany lohohohower!” He begged, preferring the gentleness of the moment. Bruce chuckled softly, moving his tickling fingers back up towards his ribs.
“Sorry. Didn’t mean to tickle you there. Are you feeling tired?” Jason nodded, his laughter fading back to boyish giggles.
“Yeahahaha. I thihihihink it’s nahahahap time.”
Bruce nodded and stilled his hand, gently caressing his hair with his other hand as Jason calmed down from his giggling. His eyes closed again as he yawns, nuzzling into the pillow he held, and leaning against Bruce. Bruce smiled as Jason drifted off to sleep.
“You’re safe now, Jason. I promise I won’t let anything happen to you again,” Bruce whispered to his son. A small smile was on Jason’s lips as he slept, feeling safe and loved again.
Not gonna lie, I hate the ending but…my brain couldn’t think of a different one. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!
A/N:I had gotten a request with the statement “All you need to do is ask” for Jason and Tim. I love these too so much lol anyways, I hope you enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tim had broken his leg in three places. Three places! So he was stuck in a cast that went all the way up his leg and he was PISSED about it. That meant no more patrol for a while, he couldn’t get around on his own, and someone was constantly in the room keeping an eye on this stubborn boy.
Today’s babysitter was Jason. And, oh boy, was it already turning into an adventure. They had bickered continuously since the moment Tim woke up because he kept trying to do things he wasn’t supposed to. Like get up on his own. Jason chewed him up one end and down the other while forcing him to sit down on the couch with his leg propped up. Tim smacked him in the shin with one of his crutches in retaliation.
So after a few moments of bickering and one cup of coffee later, Tim finally simmered down. Jason had tossed a book at his face with a huffy “Shut your damn mouth and read something, Replacement.” So read he did. Both of them had drifted into a peaceful silence for a bit, with Jason reading a book as well. Then Tim’s foot started to itch. The one that was attached to his injured leg. He shifted slightly trying to scratch it against the fabric of the couch.
It was working in his favor. So he tried to scratch it with his other foot. That wasn’t working either. It was starting to get worse and he didn’t know what to do. All the shifting had caught Jason’s attention. He looked over at Tim curiously to see what he was doing. Shaking his head, he set his book down.
“Tim, is your foot itchy?” Tim looked at him sheepishly.
“Yeah…”
“Do you need help?”
“Uh…” Tim wracked his brain quickly for a way out of this. Sure, his foot was itchy. But it was also really freaking ticklish. He didn’t want Jason scratching his foot. He knew the chaos that would follow.
“Replacement. Do you need help?”
“N-No! No, I got it, Jay. Thank you.” He leaned forward and scratched his foot. Thank god he was flexible.
Jason got up and walked over to him sitting by Tim’s feet. He knew where this was going and he didn’t like it. Jason grabbed the ankle of his non injured leg and held it in an iron grip.
“Jason…don’t you dare. I know that look!” Tim warned him. A grin started to spread across Jason’s lips.
“Don’t what, Timmy?”
“Tickle me!” The moment it slipped out of his mouth, he wanted to slap himself. He just fell for the oldest trick in the book! Jason’s grin became evil.
“All you need to do is ask,” Jason purred out as he began to wiggle his fingers against Tim’s foot. Laughter came flooding out of him with no hope of stopping it.
“THIHIHIHIS ISN’T FAHAHAHAHAIR, JAHAHASON!!!”
He had to laugh at that. He knew he was being mean to the younger one. But it was just so easy!
“With your other leg out of commission right now, this the best time to tickle the shit out of you. You can’t kick me now!”
“JAHAHAHAHASON YOHOHOU BAHAHAHAHAASTARD!!!”
Tim twisted his torso to the side in some sort of poor attempt to break free. That did nothing. His face was already starting to turn red as tears formed in his eyes. He hated when his brothers tickled his feet. They knew it was his worst spot and how uncoordinated it made him.
“PLEHEHEHEHEHEASE!!! HAHAHAHAVE MEHEHEHEHERCY!!!”
And then Jason had to go and make it worse. The scream that ripped out of Tim’s throat could’ve shattered glass. Jason’s tickling fingers had worked their way up under his toes. Tim’s laughter went silent as the tears spilled over on to his red cheeks. He couldn’t move his body. His hands clenched the couch cushion so hard Jason started to hear the fabric rip. Tim’s laughter had turned into breathy gasps. He was reaching his limit.
When Jason heard a faint “Can’t breathe” he decided to call it quits. He released Tim from his hold and the younger male laid there gasping for air. He weakly glares at Jason over his shoulder.
“W-What…the hell…” Jason chuckled at him.
“You’ve been moody the past few days. You needed a cheer up dude,” He stated as he patted his leg and stood to grab his book. Tim groaned rolling over on to his back.
“When I’m out of my cast, your ass is mine,” He grumbled as he, too, picked up his book. Jason smiled and sat beside him.
