Maybe some gentle pre-frosting shaving of the ridges and edges would help? (I'm pretty sure I've seen those Penis Friday pics of nude men at Pride events with the painted penises that look less like penises than some of these cakes still do.) :-) But credit for trying!

I just got word that my security clearance and background checks came through, and I start work tomorrow!

This is a huge milestone for us, because we finally BOTH have jobs, now, and it feels like we’ve gotten so much closer to “officially making good” on our quest to have a life together.

There won’t be a lot of money (and here come the student loan payments, soon) but it should be enough to let us get by as a household without constantly living in the red.

We couldn’t have made it here without the amazing support of our Tumblr friends, our family, and a lot of different types of privilege, to be sure.

I hope I can do well in the job, and I hope all the other kids like me!

The past week was hectic and stressful, but my mom is now all moved into her temporary new apartment. I say temporary cause now she can take the time to find a new house. Which means we get to do this all over again in three months. Oh joy! BUT, now that we’re all done with her move and my other mother having finally transitioned into her memory care facility, I can resume my standard ways of doing things. Yay!

In other news, we had a falling out with the management of the boyo’s school. If you are interested in why, feel free to message me but I’m not putting it out here until we’ve setteled things with them. We’re going to miss his teachers and friends, but he only had two weeks left so he’d be leaving them soon anyways. We managed to get him into the music therapy camp he as in last year for these last two weeks. This means 3 days of 3 hours at the coffee shop and hopefully lots of writing again! So silver lining. I’ll probably finish up the angsty one and might try to work on A Light in the Gloam, finally. Here’s hoping.

ffff cough was The Empty Hearse.  I can’t think what it would be in HLV, unless it’s like... Janine saying “room for a little one?”  hahaha but surely we are not that prudish as a society.  I don’t know, there must be an actual curse word I’m forgetting.  Anyone get called a twat in this episode?
