Another boring day at home? Why not brighten it up with some reading. Here’s a new batch of great Batfam fanfics, most of them published pretty recently, so hopefully you’ll find something new to read.

Fluff, fluff and even more fluff:
ergonomics by envysparkler (Gen, 2.7K, Rated Teen): Bruce’s kids keep invading his bed and he is just so tired. Absolutely sweet family fluff with many cuddles and a tired Batdad, who would give his kids everything, but do they really have to steal his bed every night? (Also, envysparkler writes so much amazing Batfam, I can’t put all their stories in this list, but check them out if you haven’t yet. It will be absolutely worth it.)
Is This Real Life? by shanahane (M/M, 6.3K, Rated Gen): At some point or another, all of Bruce’s four sons have their wisdom teeth removed. It’s a different experience for all of them. Really nice no capes AU in a series where Bruce went to therapy instead of becoming Batman. The M/M is due to some background Birdflash, but the focus is on the Batfam.
New year bets by Fleur_de_Violette (Gen, 9.3K, Rated Teen): Dick overworking himself because he is a good person, Jason worrying about him without admitting to being worried, and bets on people’s health. Just a very nice Batfam story that puts Dick forgetting about his own health and his family looking after him in the focus.
Of Flags and Forts by DawnsEternalLight (Gen, 2.7K, Rated Gen): Every year the Batfam has a game of capture the flag fused with a snowball fight, and this time Damian gets to join the fun.
Funny Batfam:
I Must Leave Right Now, Immediatly by motleyfam (Gen, 3.0K, Rated Teen): Tim splits his pants at a charity gala. To say that he’s expecting merciless teasing from his brothers is an understatement. What he gets is...not that? Super sweet and funny story about Jason and Damian helping Tim and being good brothers. The ending had me in stitches, I was laughing so hard.
On the Record by I_Write_Midnight_Snacks (Gen, 1.5K, Not Rated): Jason is stealing the tires of the Batmobile once again, Tim is filming, Bruce is tiredly drinking his coffee and Dick seriously considers which side he is on. Very funny little story that just perfectly captured the dynamic in the Batfam.
hit ‘em up style by TheResurrectionist (Gen, 2.3K, Not Rated): Steph asks Bruce to get her some tampons and in typical Bruce Wayne fashion, he takes it way too seriously. Absolutely delightful, good Batdad cranked up to the max.
the reflex by TheResurrectionist (Gen, 1.0K, Not Rated): Bruce and Jason hide out with Batcow to smoke and it is so cute and funny.
A little bit of angst:
An Even Trade by fanfictiongreenirises (Gen, 3.2K, Rated Gen): Batfam meets Supernatural as Dick makes a crossroads deal to save his little brother. Perfect amount of angst and bittersweetness. If you enjoy selflessness and brothers doing the impossible for each other, this is the fic for you.
With Your Best Violence by woodenwashbucket (Gen, 4.7K, Rated Teen): Talia shows back up in Gotham and blackmails Jason into bringing Damian back to the League of Shadows. Really great story about Jason ebing backed into a corner but still trying to look out for his little brother.
little soldier boy, come marching home by TheImaginativeFox (Gen, 10.9K, Rated Teen): After Jason dies and before he comes back, he spends his days tethered to Bruce as a ghost with the ability to sense when people are about to die. One day Dick starts to make Jason’s death-sense go haywire. This story legit made me cry, but it was so good. I would still recommend to read the tags first, as you might guess there are some heavy/sad themes in here.
to the red planet Mars by r_astra (Gen, 30.2K+, Not Rated): Jason and Bruce get hit with a curse that won’t allow them to be more than fifty feet apart and with Jason’s return to the Manor some things come to light. If you are looking for a fic that deals with Bruce’s abusive behaviour towards his kids in the comics, this is the one for you. This story hits so hard, but it is exceptionally good and well worth a read (last chapter isn’t up yet).
Casefic:
the thing with feathers by bacondoughnut (Gen, 16.3K+, Not Rated): When Dick and Bruce go missing and Tim can't find them on his own he turns to the only other person he can think of for help, Jason. He just hopes they can keep from killing each other long enough to save their family. Jason reluctantly helping Tim, great detective work and begrudging brotherly bonding, what more could you want? An ongoing story and I am delighted every time there is an update.

First Gear by nanami (Gen, 4.0K, Rated Gen): Jason never learned how to drive a car and now Damian is the one to teach him. It goes...pretty well, actually. Funny and sweet story about Jason and Damian just being brothers.
Your Emergency by shanahane (Gen, 6.1K, Rated Teen): How Dick meets his three brothers by answering their 911 calls. This is such an amazing take on a no-cape AU, seriously, everything fits so perfectly and the idea is really cool. The story is part of a series, although they are (mostly) stand-alones, so don’t let that stop you.
How Lucky We Are to Be Alive Right Now by Sohotthateveryonedied (Gen, 1.2K, Rated Gen): Dick is wearing the original Robin costume from his early days in the boots and cape. The outfit is at least two sizes too small, the cape only reaching the small of his back. Upon further inspection, Bruce can see that he waxed his legs for this. Jesus Christ. This is so sweet and funny, just prime Batfam content all around.
Acts of Kindness by Perizhad (Gen, 3.1K, Not Rated): Jason first meets Robin lost in the middle of Crime Alley and tries to save him from whatever pervert put him in that costume. Jason’s good heart won’t let him stop helping Robin, even though he thinks it’s not a good idea, and this is all around just a very nice take on Jason joining the family (ABO universe). If you like this story, also check out A Warmer Nest by the same author.
Home Run by iselsis (Gen, 6.0K, Rated Teen): Jason escapes the League, but he doesn't do it without stealing Talia's kid on the way out. Now he just has to get home. Jason reuniting with his family never gets old and here it is done especially sweet. The addition of toddler Damian makes it even more perfect.
His Head is Bloody, but Unbowed by gunpowder_and_pearls (Gen, 17.1K, Rated Teen): Jason was smart enough to walk away when he saw the Batmobile, all those years ago. So why wasn't he smart enough to just keep walking when he sees a crumpled form in an alley? Another great version of Jason joining the family, years later than in canon. This story deals with some heavier topics, so check out the tags first, but I absolutely loved the characterization of everyone here, so give it a try.
buried birds by envysparkler (Gen, 5.9K, Rated Teen): Tim wakes up in a coffin and only Jason answers his calls for help. I’m pretty sure if you like the Batfam and hurt/comfort you already know envysparkler’s work because every story is amazing, but I still wanted to rec this one. It is just so good!
Fairy Godbrother by envysparkler (Gen, 16.8K+, Rated Teen): The Batboys meddle interdimansionally to fix their family. Another absolutely amazing work by envysparkler.
The Demon in the Details Series by SalParadiseLost (Gen, 42K+, Rated Teen): Jason is an incubus and as such needs to feed on emotions (no worries, there is nothing sexual happening here). This series is such an interesting AU with a very nice bit of world-building and great character dynamics.
Thanks Dickhead by TheMutantHonk (Gen, 0.8K, Rated Teen): The chandelier no longer supports Dick like it used to. Short and sweet Batfam story.
My Brother’s Keeper by RandomReader13 (Gen, 4.3K, Rated Teen): Jason is talked into picking Damian up from school and it ends in violence - but in a good way! Protective big brother Jason is amazing in this. He’d never admit it, but he loves his little brother.
Reverse Robins Series by InsaneTrollLogic (Gen and M/M, 51.4K, Rated Gen to M): As the name says, a reverse Robins AU with Damian as the oldest Batkid. This series is a little bit older so you may already know it, but I just recently found it and was so amazed by the writing, I just had to rec it. The only pairing is Damian/Jon, although most of the series focuses on the Batfam.
Don’t have anything to read during the holidays? No problem, here are some great Batfam fanfics. Most of them are fairly recent, so hopefully you’ll find something new. The focus is on fluffy and funny gen Batfam stories, but I also included a few H/C stories and two JayRoy ones.

How To Break Up A Knife Fight by RubyofRaven (Gen, 1.5K, Rated Gen): In which Alfred is away, Bruce has an emergency, and someone needs to be left in charge. Family fluff Batfam style with a perfect ending.
A Hindering Hand by collectivefandomstuff (Gen, 4.3K, Rated T): When Dick is refused the opportunity to coddle Damian, he decides to lavish his other siblings with his questionably helpful assistance. They are palpably ungrateful. Dick being an annoying older brother is hilarious and sweet at the same time. Good feel reading.
Halloween Wonder by alecmagnuslwb (M/M, 1.7K, Rated Gen): Jason and Roy take Lian trick or treating and she has a specific request for their costumes. Sweet JayRoy family fluff.
Get Out Of My Room by damthosefandoms (Gen, 2.2K, Rated Gen): Dick likes to mess with his little brother. Jason enjoys being a little shit to his older brother. Everyone always says they’ll get along when they get older. They’re not so sure about that. Sweet and funny story about Dick and Jason being brothers.
Have I Told You About Minnie? by Hinn_Raven (Gen, 4.5K, Rated T): After you’ve known Matches Malone long enough, you get used to him telling you about his kids. Not that his kids know about it. Bruce is a proud dad, even when he is undercover, and can’t stop telling everyone about his awesome kids. Nice focus on the relationship between Bruce and Stephanie.
Night at the (National History) Museum by collectivefandomstuff (Gen, 7.2K, Rated T): The Batbros cause havoc at a gala and it is hilarious.
Nutella by good_ho_mens (Gen, 1.7K, Rated T): Dick just wanted Nutella, and Jason didn't feel like getting shot today.
One Wrong Step by good_ho_mens (Gen, 3.0K, Rated Gen): Damian steps on a mine and Jason refuses to leave. Also, Tim worries. Batbrothers bonding during a crisis and it is so good.
Put On Your Mask (We're Going Shopping) by shanahane (Gen, 3.2K, Not Rated): It's been... some time since Bruce has done any sort of shopping. Still, somehow, miraculously, the trip to the supermarket is a not a complete disaster. One could even describe it as successful. Wholesome Batdad with his sons.
Friends That Say (You’re Not Alone) by ProsperDemeter (Gen, 3.5K, Rated Gen): Clark visits Wayne Manor during Christmas and sees a totally different side to Bruce in how he behaves around little Dick. Sweet and wholesome, good dad Bruce and little ray of sunshine Dickie.
siblings being siblings series by envysparkler (Gen, 12.3K+, Rated T): The Batkids notice that Bruce never confronts Jason about little mistakes and start to use him as a scapegoat. It spirals from there. Super funny, especially once Jason gets his revenge.
Hurt/Comfort Stories:
in doctor's office lighting (i didn't tell you i was scared) by good_ho_mens (Gen, 8.9K, Rated T): Tim gets meningitis and it isn’t pretty, but his family is there for him. A sickfic that goes pretty deep, including the first real look at how Tim’s missing spleen will influence his life. Hurt comfort done super well.
Tough Love by iselsis (Gen, 7.6K, Rated T): Jason finds his mother dead on the bathroom floor, but his grief is interrupted when a strange man breaks into his apartment and kidnaps him. The moment you get what is happening this story changes completely and it is so good.
Zoetic by PurpleArrowzandLeather (Gen, 4.2K, Rated T): Jason goes inside a burning building to save people who are trapped in their apartments. He doesn't come out. Emotional and sad, but so satisfying. (And Chapter 2 makes everything better again.)
Looking for Home by Team_Alpha_Wolf_Squadron (Gen, 11.8K, Rated T): Bruce and Jason are lost in the woods, not knowing how they got there, or even where they are. A little road trip even when there is no road is always good for bonding though. So, so great. Not gonna say more to avoid spoilers. Background Bruce/Clark, but that’s not really important.
Broken Bodies, Daisy Bloom Series by RandomReader13 (Gen, 15.6K+, Rated Gen to M): The Batfam during the zombie apocalypse. A very realistic take on how to survive the zombie apocalypse, with emotional family moments and the expected worst case scenario happening but with a twist.
Waylaid by Elya_Rho (Gen, 31.7K, Rated T): All Damian wanted was to spend the day alone with his father. Then Drake had to go and ruin everything by getting himself kidnapped... Damian pretending not to care about Tim while simultaneously doing everything possible to safe him is so good. Very nice Batbro story.
In Progress:
Keeping Score by Elya_Rho (Gen, 67.3K+, Rated T): Brothers can turn anything into a competition … including saving each other's lives. Don’t worry about it being a WIP, there are no unresolved cliffhangers. The individual missions are so good and get even better with each chapter. I reread all of them several times already, so definitely worth a try.

Drink Deep in the Morning by GordandV (Gen, 4.0K+, Rated T): Robin era Jason talks Dick into taking him driving. Sweet Batbrothers in an interesting magical realism AU. A WIP with only one chapter, but the world is established in such an interesting way, it’s really worth a read.
A Change Of Scenery by Sun_Moon_Stars_Jedi (M/M, 18.5K+, Rated Gen): Jason finds himself stuck in the past while Roy has to deal with the fourteen year old version of his husband. Time travel is just so much fun! I’m shamelessly putting my own fic here, it’s fluffy and funny, so if you’d like to, give it a shot.
Epic Series:
Emotional Motion Sickness Series by Batbirdies (Gen, 348K+, Rated Gen to M): A series beginning with Bruce Wayne finally deciding to go to therapy, and the ripple effect afterwards. I can’t put into words how good this series is. If you like Bruce as a good dad, who makes up for his faults and is there for his kids, you absolutely have to read this!
Flightless Birds Series by Ionaperidot (Gen, 181K+, Not Rated): A Bruce without the Batkids meets one with them. Cue Batdad collecting abandoned kids from the multiverse. The progress Bruce and each of the kids makes is amazing, an absolute must read. Slight TimKon, but the pairing is not the focus of the stories.
In For a Pound Series by Cdelphiki (Gen, 248K+, Rated Gen): Talia gives Damian to Bruce when he is still a baby and it changes everything. I’m sure everyone has already read this amazing series, but on the off chance that you haven’t, go do it. Everything Cdelphiki writes makes you feel warm and happy, family fluff of the highest quality.
Everything is kind of crazy right now, so I thought some wholesome Batfam fanfics would be a great way to take people’s minds off it for a bit. I tried to mostly include fluffy/funny gen fics that are maybe not as widely known as the big fanfics of the fandom. Hopefully you find something new that brings you some joy.

The Happiest Place on Earth by Team_Alpha_Wolf_Squadron (Gen, 11.3K, Rated T): Bruce and the kids take a trip to Disneyworld and it is just so cute, I legit cried at the end. The Batfam doing normal family stuff is always great and every kid gets a day with Bruce, highlighting each relationship beautifully.
Lost At Sea, And I’m Having A Time by whaleofatime (Gen, 16.1K, Rated T): On a mission with Jason to deal with pirates in the Caribbean, Bruce finds himself ejected overboard and accidentally lost at sea. This is one of the funniest stories I have read in my life, the humour is superb. If you need something to make you laugh, go read this.
Best Served Wet by RandomReader13 (Gen, 2.3K, Rated T): Dick and Bruce teach Jason how to swim during his Robin days. Years later he gets revenge. Super sweet, I’ve read this one probably a hundred times. Perfect if you need something to make you smile.
Don’t Read Into It by RandomReader13 (Gen, 3.5K, Rated T): In which Jason is a literature nerd and helps his siblings. Very fluffy.
Call Me Hopeless by incogneat_oh (Gen , 3.3K, Not Rated): Dick and Jason bond after Jason’s first gala. Slightly drunk Dick is a treasure and Jason realising he now has a brother always makes me feel so warm inside.
But we’ll carry our brothers (oh, we’ll carry them home) by AutumnHobbit (Gen, 1.6K, Rated Gen): Bruce asks Tim to find Damian during a gala. Damian gets to act his age, Tim is a good older brother and it is super sweet. Mentioned Bruce/Selina.
Ensemble Performance by lowflyingfruit (Gen, 4.8K, Rated Gen): Damian has a dark secret and only Jason can help him. This is peak good big brother Jason, so sweet and fluffy.
Fatherhood in the New Millennium (or, Use a Great Ball, Stupid) by 8sword (Gen, 4.3K, Rated T): The Batkids get into Pokemon Go and Bruce is suffering. Very wholesame Batfam content.
Listen by CrimeAlley1048 (Gen, 2.7K, Rated Gen): Damian finds a new target for his aggressive care-taking. Some Tim and Dami fluff.
Paperwork by starknjarvis (Gen, 3.6K, Rated T): Jason thinks Bruce will kick him out because he failed a test at school. Starts out angsty but turns so fluffy and definitely leaves you with a warm feeling of happiness.
Carry by Ptelea (Gen, 4.9K, Rated T): Dick gets kidnapped and Jason rescues him. Lighter than you think and has some very good jokes.

Good Samaritan law by ShariDeschain (Gen, 2.2K, Rated Gen): Damian's not very good at comforting children. Jason's a little better. Just some nice Jason and Dami bonding.
Flutter, Flutter Little Bat by audreycritter (Gen, 6.2K, Rated T): Jason comes by the Manor to hang out with Alfred on Halloween but instead meets Bruce at the door. It’s a suprisingly nice night from there.
how many bats jumping on the bed by noctelle (Gen, 1.1K, Rated Gen): Everyone comes by to cuddle Jason because they love him.
if i’m going down i’m taking you all with me by spider_momo (Gen, 9.6K, Rated T): The Batfamily Group Chat is a recipe for disaster and so hilariously funny, you can’t read this without laughing out loud.
Honourable mentions for fanfics most of you have probably already read:
In For a Pound Series by Cdelphiki (Gen, 240+K, Rated Gen): An AU in which Damian came to live with Bruce as a baby and how that changed the entire Batfam. One of the best series out there with good dad Bruce and adopted sibling relationships that make you melt. If you like wholesome Batfam, you will love everything written by Cdelphiki.
The Dark Knight Strikes Back by audreycritter (Gen, 8.2K, Rated T): Bruce plays Minecraft and it causes havoc in the Manor. Very funny story about Bruce actually showing his playful side with a dash of feelings thrown in.
Fair is Fowl by Lysical (Gen, 4.3K, Rated T): Jason has the chickenpox, which is the ideal time to bond with Dick. I absolutely love baby Jay in this fic and Dick learning to be an older brother always has me so weak. I can’t even count how often I’ve read this fic, it always makes me feel happy.
And we will find a way home by AutumnHobbit (Gen, 1.9K, Rated Gen): A group of sick Robins sleeping off a virus gives Bruce the chance to remember how much he loves his boys.
batcoons by drakefeathers (Gen, 6K, Rated Gen): Jason adopts the racoons living outside of his safehouse with some help from his family (even though he didn’t ask for it).
Diversionary Tactic by audreycritter (Gen, 1.9K, Rated T): Jason has a unique talent, that is very useful, but also kind of gross. Hilarious little fic, always reread it with a smile.
Grow and grow till tall by AutumnHobbit (Gen, 2.3K, Rated Gen): Jason hangs around the Manor for some R&R, which winds up involving some carpentry.
