Today we remember the life of an icon, a true founding father for heroes worldwide. Adam West set the precedent and truly made popular to audiences everywhere the story of Batman. His performance as Batman/Bruce Wayne alongside cast members like Burt Ward as Robin and Cesar Romero as The Joker was truly an iconic staple of superhero media everywhere. His show taught lessons of justice and fairness, made audiences laugh, had us on the edge of our seats with suspense, and had fans everywhere cheering when Batman and Robin saved the day. Some of my best memories are of watching old reruns with my parents. Farewell Adam West. Leave us never forget the immortal FRANK GORSHIN as THE RIDDLER in the Batman TV series' debut 2-parter that aired January 12-13, 1966--and the series really never got better than that first 2-parter, because it became the template that Producer Dozier churned out pale imitations of the rest of the show's run, running it into the ground within 2 years!
