favourite thing about them: he is tragic. he's a young man who got caught up in a war and then never managed to get out of it, no matter how much he wants to. i'm also a big fan of his relapse in tfatws because it's so visceral and real.

least favourite thing about them: it might be the part of me that imprinted on pre-serum steve like a baby bird back in 2011, but, bucky's overprotectiveness and underestimating of steve in the first film. chronically ill bri who was currently dealing with her own friend's same attitude had a very black-and-white view of that scene, even if current bri can now watch it with a more level head.

favourite line: i could fill my blog with my thoughts about this line and bucky's trauma.

brotp: bucky & clint. without a doubt. the chemistry they have in recent comics is so enjoyable to read. i hope we get more of them soon.

otp: this is a difficult one because i have several. mcu -> (happy ship) bucky/sarah or (dark ship) bucky/zemo. comics -> bucky/natasha, full stop. i love them so much.

nopt: bucky/steve. i have just always seen them as brothers, and also the reasons listed in my 'least favourite' probably had an impact too.

random headcanon: mcu bucky was drafted into the war. he tried to register as a conscientious objector but was declined.

unpopular opinion: bucky was not 'holding back' in tfatws, his character was intentionally nerfed because the writers didn't know how to balance the fights. (it looks like this has now been fixed for thunderbolts*, given the latest look, thankfully).

favourite picture of them:

mcu -> him in azzano. the "did it hurt? is it permanent?" and "you don't have one of those, do you?" moments (i.e the moment bucky is starting to put together what happened to him/the moment he realised he isn't getting out of the war)
