Watching my local BBC news and an interview with the mum of a young trans girl. The presenter asked, "But what if, a few years down the line, Amber wants to be Nicholas again? After being through all of this." and the mum looked kind of baffled for a second before replying, "Then she goes back to being Nicholas." I think she showed great restraint for not saying, "It's not rocket science." I don't think I would've been able to hold back! What a great mum!

Fit for a purpose in the workplace – BBC current affairs programme Inside Out is looking for a north east business to take part in an exercise in fitness and healthy eating.

The search has been prompted by calls from the NHS and Government for more people to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing.

Inside Out is seeking a regional company willing to volunteer to take part in a series of televised sessions where staff and bosses get together to demonstrate a commitment to health and fitness in the workplace.

“We would like to work with a pool of people, led by a boss, who are prepared to limber up and take on the challenge of improving fitness and diet. The idea is they would use the workplace to put their ideas into practice,” said researcher Katie Cole.

Estate agents discriminate against black people, finds BBC investigation

Posing as a landlord, reporter uncovers London agents willing to meet request flat should not be let to African-Caribbean renters

Estate agents in London are routinely discriminating against black people looking for a home in the private rental market, an undercover investigation has found.

The BBC's Inside Out programme uncovered 10 estate agents in north-west London who were willing to meets landlords' specification that properties should not be let to African-Caribbean people.

Posing as a landlord who did not want to let out his flat to black people, an undercover reporter asked agents if they would be willing to discriminate against potential tenants. All 10 said although they could not openly bar black people they could prevent them taking up the flat by pretending it had been let, or by falsely promising to call them back.
