An 8 year old from West Yorkshire is taking on KFC over plans to build a new restaurant at the end of his street. Adam Mayat from Thornbury has launched a local petition against the move which is being considered by Leeds City Council.
The fast food chain is among expansion proposals for Gallagher Leisure Park, along with a Costa coffee, by Urban and Civic (Bradford)

Urban and Civic Bradford say the development will bring in around 60 jobs to the area.
Councillor Richard Lewis, Leeds City Council’s executive member for regeneration, transport and planning, said:
“While clearly we wouldn’t want to pre-empt consideration of this application by the plans panel, we do welcome all views as it’s very important in helping them to make their decision to consider it from every perspective. Personally, I find it heartening to see such a young person engaging in his local community and getting involved in what’s going on there. That’s what democracy is all about.”
