Barbecue-braised short ribs that are soft and flavorful and fall off the bone. This is the perfect dish for BBQ fans who like both sweet and savory foods.
Ingredients: 4 lbs beef short ribs. 1 cup barbecue sauce. 1/2 cup brown sugar. 1/4 cup soy sauce. 1/4 cup Dijon mustard. 4 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon smoked paprika. 1 teaspoon black pepper. 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper. 2 cups beef broth. 1 onion, finely chopped. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Salt to taste.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 325F 163C. Season short ribs with salt and pepper. In a large oven-safe pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Sear short ribs on all sides until browned. Remove from pot and set aside. In the same pot, saut onions until softened. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute. Stir in barbecue sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add the seared short ribs back to the pot and pour in beef broth. Bring to a simmer. Cover the pot and transfer it to the preheated oven. Braise for 2.5 to 3 hours or until the meat is tender. Remove from the oven and skim off excess fat from the sauce. Serve the braised short ribs over mashed potatoes or rice, drizzling the sauce on top. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
