you said that you invested the most world building in arboret, so what's it like :0? it doesn't trade with the other two continents, so im assuming it's self sufficient? is it more land based or sea based? do the five rulers respect or despise each other? how is it down, in terms of wealth (i.e everyone's generally doing okay vs the rich get richer and the poor get poorer)
gosh i didn't expect to get this many questions about things like that 🥰 thank u,,
Arboret is the smallest continent on Mimue and the farthest away from all other continents- I made a map of Mimue using Inkarnate awhile back!
Arboret is the continent in the top left corner of the map, and is labeled as such. It's primarily taken up by forests and mountains, and pretty much all of it's population are Divinains. At first it relied entirely on the other two continents for resources, but over time it became mostly self-sufficient! Honestly, it's Sanctus and Requies that need trades from Arboret, not the other way around.
As for land or sea based, it depends on the part of Arboret! How the oligarchy works is that each monarch has their own community/town/group of Divinains to run, each scattered around the continent. Monarch Betelgeuse's community is on the shore just before the mountain range, Monarch Pollux's community is on the mountain range, Monarch Aldebaran's community is on the edge of the forest, Monarch Fomalhaut's community is on the brief expanse of grasslands before the forest itself, and Monarch Rigel's community is in the heart of the forest and the center of the entire continent. All monarchs (Betelgeuse, Pollux, Aldebaran, and Fomalhaut) answer to Rigel, but they are all technically on equal footing and can do their own thing.
The monarchs get along surprisingly well. Betelgeuse (Betel for short) is Rigel's QPP and both are close friends with Pollux and Aldebaran (Aldeba for short), who are both in turn buddies with eachother and pretty much everyone else. The exception is Fomal, aka Fomalhaut, the newest Divinain Monarch.
All Divinains can perform magic and are naturally skilled in it... except Fomal. Fomal is a mutant Divinain, and the only one currently alive- he was born without the ability to cast, channel, or even do magic at all.
The main reason Arboret is inhabited mostly by Divinains is because it's... not kind to those without magic. They're often looked down upon, pitied and babied, just generally assumed to be incapable of anything worthwhile. This attitude doesn't usually show around Lavians and Colorans, as it's expected and part of the species in their case, but for Fomal? A Divinain, a species normally extremely adept at magic?
He gets that treatment in full force, and he's angry and rude because of it. This extends to the other monarchs, his people... pretty much everyone. He's like a porcupine, he lashes out and harms to not get hurt.
Fomal is complicated, TLDR. Where was I? Oh, right, Arboret in general.
It's pretty okay in terms of wealth! Compared to Sanctus and Requies it's far from the richest continent in the world, but it's also far from the poorest. No, I don't know how currency and stuff works on Mimue, so don't ask.
The monarch squad are my favorite group in Mimue and I love them all.
