The Ten Fandom Commandments AKA the Fando Comandos
1) Thou shalt respect another’s ship: insulting another’s ship is like slapping their mother at a restaurant thou wouldst not scream that another’s favorite dish is most fowl. Thou shalt say: “Not thy fave” and as the traditional Disney ballad--”Let it GO.”
2) Thou shalt respect creators as human beings: They are not hollow shells to create at thy whim, most create at their sacrifice not thine. If they do possess commission fees, thou shall put thy money where thy mouth is.
3) Thou shalt respect the creators wishes: If they say, “Please do not repost”= Do not repost. If they say, “Please do not alter their work”= Do not alter their work. Their instructions are simplistic--Do not prove thyself simple.
4) Thou shalt source thy work: Ripping off another’s child as thine own is not the moral way. And if thou seest another commit offense callest them out and tellest the original creator.
5) Thou shalt build up creators not rend them asunder: Fledglings lie everywhere so use thy criticisms kindly. Take care how thou stepest.
6) Thou shalt welcome the fandom young--irregardless of age or experience: For a fandom to thrive, interrogations to determine ignorance are meaningless. Appoint thyself as a friend not a judge or competitor. All fans are created equal.
7) Thou shalt delight in the diversity of ideas and perceptions: The voice of each creator is unique. Take care not to crush it with thine own.
8) Thou shalt warn thy viewers: Grief flows from the heart in pieces of poignance and beauty, but what brings rest to thee may bring turmoil to another. So state thy triggers.
9) Thou shalt ignore the gutter trash: They who are named--Flamers, Trolls, and so on. They will continue to exist as a vile race under a variety of labels. They aim to cover their own filth by dumping it on thee and lick up your explosions greedily--like dogs on raw meat. Let them starve. They long for thy attention to give their existence meaning. Leave them to rot. Block them.
10) Thou shalt go boldly and have joy in thy creations: The tides of popularity shift but thy work is precious whether the stream of approval is mighty or small.
