#bear making

Decided to make a small teddy bear for next the Royal 2027 competition. I haven’t decided yet whether this will be a plain bear or a clothed bear, mainly because the fur I’m using is ‘bastard fur’ (ie. it colour shifts between shades of blue/grey or shades of grey/silver/purple depending on what the lighting conditions are).

Pattern I’m using is ‘Sugar Bear’ by Furaddiction.

This is the second rabbit I’ve made, he’s not perfect but definitely my favourite make so far

I’m gonna have a break for now so I can stock up on materials and find some new patterns. I think even though they’re not perfect I might start selling the new ones I make if anyone is interested!

Behold, my only slightly ugly creation! I've been working on this fella for two days, and he turned out pretty good! He's made of incredibly dense plush fur that was really hard to sew, he has cotter pin joints, and he is weighted with little pouches of glass beads.

Sidenote - if you're a UK crafty person and you want cheap but really nice faux fur to play around with, try the brand Divante from The Range. They make cushions and rugs and stuff, but it's so easy to pick them apart to use the fabric and the backing is really nice and strong!

Bear necessities

I am currently in bear making mode and am starting to regret it. It’s Christmas Eve and I am up to my eyes in stuffing, but not the sort that goes in turkeys. I made a few teddy bears for friends, some as gifts and some to sell and one special one as I will soon be a great uncle.
