Hmmm..
1. Growing up my favorite book series was Animorphs. I wrote my first fan fiction about it. KA Applegate used to have a site where she’d answer reader questions, and I submitted multiple times asking if Rachel and Marco would get together. (I loved Rachel and Tobias, don’t get me wrong, but something about Rachel and Marco gripped me right in the chest.) She never did answer, alas. Though I do think one of the books had some kind of alternate universe or something where they went on a date…
2. I’ve been stung by yellow jackets 85 times in my life. Once when I was coming down a slide and ran my hand over one on the slide railing. 84 times at a girl from my youth soccer team’s birthday party.
3. I met Sean Astin and Terry Pratchett at the same time in a green room at New York Comic Con. The con folks were trying to kick Sir Terry out of the green room (maybe the volunteers didn’t know who he was?? Idr) and Sean Astin, who is a huge fan of his apparently, stopped them from doing that. It was cool. At some point during this (after he’d saved Sir Terry) I told Sean Astin how much I loved him in The Goonies bc it was the only movie of his I could think of in the moment. I almost died. He very kindly laughed at me.
Well, we've come to the final hours of OWl City's countdown timer. Those in tomorrow's time zones have a negative timer going on. I'm going to try and stay up to see if he announces anything!
In other news I got stung by a bee yesterday, have a big red circle and its swelled. itchyitchyitchy
