Hoa Ky is a Cantonese butcher and deli specialising in ingredients for hot pot. You can buy a few types of noodles (the dry noodles are mostly rice), a few sauces, condiments, and spice mixes, some fresh produce (eg: napa cabbage, cilantro, bok choy, eggs, mushrooms), house-made meatballs and fishballs; and both fresh (raw) and cooked meats. While there isn't a wide selection, every item they sell is deliberate.
My favourite prepared meat is their stewed beef shank. When I want a quick beef noodle soup, this beef shank is perfect for that. Combining the shank with pho broth I found at the grocery store, shaved onion, wheat noodles, cilantro, and a big glug of chili oil... that is a wonderful and easy way to satisfy that craving.
