This is a good question and I had to think about it for a few minutes but ultimately, I believe that Murray will go to Joyce about Hopper first because in the 004 teaser Murray appears to be listening to something

And he seems quite panicked. Joyce did get the Russian dolls, but I feel like she would end up thinking it would be some stupid prank some kids around town would pull on the Byers.

But it also could be the other way around, with Joyce going to Murray first because it doesn’t look like he’s exactly in his “house” in Illinois. I’m comparing the background Murray’s in to the background of the Byers’ new house and it looks quite similar, but then again, it could just be some new house that Murray got

Fun fact: Actually not so fun in my case but when I was younger my mom had this big tiger stuffed animal, like it was 5-6 feet long and I had a dream that it was gonna try to kill me and it scared me shitless because it seemed so real and we were just going in circles slowly in the dream. My mom loves tigers but after that dream I was scared shitless of tigers

I actually thought it was real for years until I asked my mom when I was 13 and she said it was a dream. I thought that thing came alive like in toy story
