tell me about the metal sonics origins and what makes them different from normal metal sonic

Can't really put all the Metals into one post, but I'll give you one of my favourites out of the bunch, my New Yoke City Metal Sonic. Steel, full name Steel Foe Sonic!

Hey wait a minute, doesn't New Yoke City already HAVE a Metal Sonic, you might ask? Great question! Well, personally, I don't consider Chaos Sonic to be Metal Sonic. I consider Chaos Sonic to be his own model, similar to Mecha Sonic. Here's Steel's story!

After the events where Chaos Sonic was destroyed, The Chaos Council had realized that he was a massive failiure. Although he was the council's first attempt at creating a robotic Sonic with the prism energy, they all collectively agreed that despite Chaos Sonic being effective for the short period of time he was operating? He had many flaws, and several concerns. So, the council wanted to start a new project. The goal? To create a better Sonic. Something that although would match Sonic's speed and intelligence, would outrank him on the battlefield and keep their mouth shut. To become the " better " Sonic. With this, Project: Steel Foe began.

But instead of simply creating a badnik on a whim with the prism energy, the council wanted to try manipulating the prism's power. They wanted to make sure that what they got was as good as it could get! So, after several long months of manipulating the prism energy, the little test tube baby was created. Named after the project, Steel was created with the speed, intelligence, and incredible power. But, this came at some major costs.

Besides not being able to speak outside of beeps, boops, and other non-verbal vocalizations? Steel was also very curious and naive, was unaware about how to properly control their powers, they could mainly only fly and float around ( walking isn't their specialty. ), and worst of all? Steel was actually playful and friendly towards people, especially towards the council. Would they attack people on command? Yes, but they'd more so play with their enemies by torturing them rather than just getting the job done.

As their main job outside of terrorizing The Resistance and ruining their plans, Steel is almost like a lab rat to the council. Since the council can't catch Sonic most of the time, they use Steel to test things such as live traps and unethical experiments. This is what it takes to be the " better " Sonic.
