In a solemn message to fans and partners of Sydney Beer Week (SBW) came the devastating news of this year’s event being cancelled. And so in keeping that tradition this year until it’s regrouping and return we honour its eight year run in the way they have asked with the organiser’s optimistic end note.

Here’s What’s Happening in Tucson This Weekend!
Fri 2/15 - Sun 2/17
Happy Friday everyone. Classical music lovers will be at Centennial Hall tonight to see Joshua Bell and his 300-year-old Stradivarius violin perform the music of the masters. The question is, are you going to hear this exceptional violinist who has 40 CD recordings to his credit, appeared on countless TV shows and specials and has won every type of music award imaginable? Or are you going because he’s got those movie star looks?
With the rainy weather this weekend, indoor events might be a welcomed option. Whether you call it lead molybdate, PbMoO4, or just plain Wulfenite, go take a peek at it along with hundreds of other gem types at The Tucson Gem and Mineral Show over at the TCC this weekend. What is Wulfenite you ask? Why not read all about it, and other gemstones, in a book you can pick up for next to nothing at the Pima Country Library Book Sale. Both events will benefit from cloudy weather. Of course, if the sun does pop out, all the car lovers will be heading over to the Cruise, BBQ and Blues Festival and Auto Show in Oro tomorrow.
Hey, sports fans. Wouldn’t it be interesting if your team played the whole season all at one time? Watch football or baseball for a week straight and then you’re done until next year! Well, rodeo fans are sports fans. They enjoy the roping, wrestling, riding and racing categories like you enjoy seeing your favorite player score a touchdown or hit a home run! When the gates open tomorrow they get to see an entire Tucson Rodeo sporting event over the next eight days. See the Tucson Rodeo event list here. For horse fans, there’s also horse track racing events at Rillito this weekend, and horse jumping at the HITS Winter Classic too.
24 Hours in the Old Pueblo is a weekend mountain bike event that includes a 24-hour race in the desert. Entertainment, sleeping areas, food, and beer are available. What could possibly go wrong? Suppose you drink too much, fall off your bike and break a leg, and get attacked by a band of roving Javalinas! Relax, the event is sponsored by Tucson Medical Center!
The 32nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival is this Sunday in downtown Tucson. And in true party fashion, you can start your celebration early with the Half Way to St Pat’s Day Party on Saturday at Sentinel Peak Brewing. And the piece de resistance? It’s also Arizona Beer Week, the perfect trifecta!
Regardless of your plans, have a great weekend everyone! And as always, please let us know if we can be of any help to you or someone you know.
