It's not an easy task to portray a love story
Love is a very special and unique emotion
It's a strong connection that doesn’t have to make any sense, it just happens...
And a true love story is a thing to make the most dangerous and irrational sacrifices for.
Its something deep in the soul, which can reshape your personality, future, and life-altering choices
In cinema there are a lot of “love” stories and passionate relationships, but almost all fail to draw the absolute love, most of them are poorly written, such as the 99% of romantic comedies, and the other are significant or (masterpieces of cinema actually), but their stories are driven from the characters past, their lust, frustrations, or a strong need to be rebellious against insecurities, social norms, and society in general, such as In “The Titanic”, “American beauty”, “pretty woman”, “eternal sunshine of the spotless mind” and many other.
I have seen a lot of work on the screen, but i think there are only few examples that stand as the perfect love stories, the love that you feel in your heart, and makes you wonder how it was made on a screen, especially that the actors managed to create such chemistry without actually falling in them in real life!
In “the office” there are Jim and Pam, Dwight and Angela, both of these couples sacrificed alot, chose unwise scenarios, sometimes destroyed their opportunities in better careers, and compromised their own personal futures, and all because their other significant meant the world for them, nothing made sense other than them being together
In “the fault in our stars” Augustus basically signed his own death certificate to be with Hazel
His love for her was enough for him to lose an opportunity to live, in order to be with the girl that filled his heart
In “500 days of summer” Tom loved a selfish girl, one that lived randomly, her emotions were temporary and greedy, but he loved her non the less. The movie is about moving on from such strong feelings for the undeserving other, but still, he loved her from all his heart.
There are other beautiful examples such as “Brokeback mountain”, “blue is the warmest color”, “forrest gump” “La La Land” and the “before” trilogy, but for some reason the examples that i mentioned earlier, in my opinion, stood alone as the perfect pure emotion, that drives me to tears no matter how many times i watch it
“Dwight, listen, no matter what happens, you gotta forget about all the other stuff. You gotta forget about logic and fear and doubt. You just gotta do everything you can to get to the one woman who's gonna make all this worth it. At the end of the day, you gotta jump. You love Angela, Dwight. I think you always have.”
