How does one go about making weighted stuffed animals

Howdy! I'm a beginner crochet artist (and tumblr user, bear with me-) and I was wondering how do you make weighted stuffed animals? I've heard that you can use beans to do so, but I wouldn't mind hearing about other methods. Would marbles happen to work? Thank you for your time to read this! :D

Second attempt at granny square (the one with color change) from a few days ago. Granny squares are quite fun. Once i can do the 3 cluster style without using a guide ill venture into other styles perhaps.

And testing a scarf in the other pic, a super simple half double cluster pattern. The exampl is really pretty with variegated yarn, but im just using my cheap beginner set yarn to practice.

I was looking online at yarn the other day... at one point I swear i had 50+ tabs open trying to find exactly what im looking for lmao

I have a new passion and it is crochet. I've tried it before in the past and could never get it right. Saw some yarn and hooks at my local dollar store and thought, "what the hell...they're only a dollar" Now I'm hooked and crochet something every day. I've made face scrubbies and cloths, soap savers, and numerous granny squares. Going to attempt making a basket next. It's so nice to have a creative passion again, especially something that results in a physical object.
