Embroidery project #2 completed!
I struggle with chain stitch and straight lines haha but I think it looks pretty good for a beginner and I’m pleased with the flowers.
We have fun and we learn 😊

I’m making a messenger bag and I had the bright idea to embroider something on the front flap.
Two problems with that: I have no plan for what design I want to go for, and I haven’t embroidered anything other than cross-stitch in years.
So I drew a simple Silent Princess on some scraps from the bag fabric to see if I still remember how to do it. Six or seven hours later, this was the result, and I’m pretty happy with it.
Went to a palestinian cross-stitch embroidery workshop. Have never embroidered before so I tried to come up with some Mikus on the spot (:
first embroidery ever👁️👍🏽
I’ve been wanting to take up embroidery for years, but always just kind of assumed it had a high barrier to entry. It looks so (beautifully) finicky and intricate! But hey, it turns out you can actually just start stitching!?
The former gifted kid intrusive thoughts can get loud, so I’m really trying to lean into “it’s ok to be bad at this at first” and just enjoy it.
My latest embroidery pattern! This floral garden features chunky bumblebees and zipping dragonflies. 🐝🌸🪻
I hope this pattern brings as much joy to someone else has it brought me while making it. The full pattern with step by step instructions, detailed photos, DMC color list, and a full beginners guide is available now in my Etsy Shop!
