Monday 05.08.24 - A daily reading. Today seems to be about the ability to tackle a big task without looking for recognition (I’d say without expecting immediate gratification) while struggling to focus energy. The VIII is particularly interesting as the danger is a lack of focus. Let’s see how I get on.

Hello IEKA!! I did a 3 card reading for you. The overall advice the cards gave for you was to spend time processing the emotions that come up from your past so you can make room for new experiences. I'll elaborate in more detail by card. I'm going to talk casually and do my best to explain myself, but if you need any clarification id be happy to help!

1. 5 of Cups: I feel like you're not taking time to process some of the more negative emotions that come with doing inner child work. The specific phrase that keeps popping up in my brain is "take the time to grieve the life you thought you would have". It's ok to be disappointed that some things didn't work out like you had hoped. Plus, we all need a good pity party sometimes so go throw yourself the best pity party the world has ever seen

2. Ace of Cups: the vibe I'm getting from this card is that you've recently been overwhelmed by positivity. I'm feeling this in a positive way, like when you finally work up the courage to tell your loved ones something important and you're met with immense support kind of feeling. I'm also getting some self-love energy right now. Are you being too hard on yourself? It's important to remember that there is such thing as too much of a good thing and it's important to take time for yourself to replenish your energy! I feel like a healing activity where you openly show kindness to your younger self. maybe pull up some old pictures of you from middle school and pick out 3 positive things about yourself instead of calling yourself "cringe" or other such insults we commonly use against our younger selves.3

3. Last but not least we have the Page of Wands. I feel like you might be getting stuck on the past a little bit. I feel like the most important part of inner child work is proving to your inner child that the future can be bright and that your future is worth investing in.

Im envisioning a very specific "ritual" here that i will do my best to explain:

i want you to imagine that you're having a conversation with your child self, that they are right in front of you. I want you to tell them about all the positive things that they will experience when they get older (i.e meeting a best friend, hitting a major milestone. It doesn't matter, as long as it's personally significant to YOU).

1/24/19 - 1/25/19

This one was long since it’s encompassing two days and utilizing pictures, too, so I put it under the cut.

1/24/19:

This was my card of the day for yesterday and I definitely noticed that there were a few instances where I needed to exercise patience. I can’t say that I handled all of those situations perfectly, but I do think I did well enough. It’s still something I need to work on, though, as patience has never been my strong suit.

1/25/19:

So, when I first got this I was a little paranoid because I’d been hearing weird noises about the house the day before. During the daytime, in the afternoon, I’d heard something that sounded almost like a window at the back of the house being lifted up, you know that sound the wood makes when it slides? That sound. And then late yesterday night something sounded like it had been thrown against the house. It didn’t make the right kind of noise to be ice falling against the house, and even if it had been a similar sound it was weird because the overhangs on the house are too far out to allow for ice to fall and hit the actual side of the house. It sounded like someone threw something against the house, hard. Hard enough to cause it to be heard all the way at the other end of the house (though admittedly our house isn’t big) and for anyone in the living room to feel the vibration from it.

So, this morning, when I turned over this card you can imagine my paranoia. However, I don’t think we’re being tormented or targeted. I think I was hearing things that sounded like something and may not have a fast explanation but which are not actually sinister in nature. So, I don’t think that’s what this card was talking about. What did happen, though, was that there were a lot of arguments around the house and I needed to employ both patience and caution in how I dealt with them. Which makes sense, because when I asked my question yesterday, I added “going into tomorrow” which would be today. So, the energy from both the Trout Lily and the Wormwood cards were at play today in no uncertain terms.
