Elder - Ritual

7/22/19

So, I wake up at around 3:30am today with the overwhelming feeling that someone is watching me. Everyone’s asleep, the house is silent, I’m alone in my bedroom. I decided to get up for awhile and read, but an hour later the feeling hasn’t entirely gone away so I decide on a whim to pull a card and get Elder - Ritual.

This is the second time in a row I’ve pulled that card, but whereas before it was telling me something more abstract, I think this time it was telling me something more firm and concrete. So, I’m using candles and incense for cleansing and protection.

Chicory - Sustain

7/17/19

This is telling me a couple of things here. While it’s reminding me that there will be people within my orbit that need sustaining mentally and emotionally and that I should be there for them, it’s also telling me that I’m on the right track in my personal life and that I should sustain that. Keep doing what I’m doing, basically. I got that very strongly when I turned the card over this morning; “you’re on the right track; keep going.” In other words, sustain my path and my pace.

1/27/19 - 1/28/19

Under a cut because there are two and it got long. Also, I get pretty personal in one of them. It wouldn’t let me post pictures for some reason, but I’ll come back and try again another time.

1/27/19:

Since I have the tarot notation in the shot, I’ll add that to things, too. Some of it’s a bit personal, though, so this will be a bit vague. So, I left home yesterday morning to go somewhere and Mom was in a good mood but when I came back she was in a bad mood because Steve (my stepfather) had come home from somewhere he’d gone with a new hare-brained scheme that would probably get us into trouble that she had to insist he not do. He was, in short, trying to get away with something. Or, he would have tried if Mom hadn’t insisted otherwise. I’m also trying to get away with something, although it isn’t bad or illegal or anything sinister. But, there are people who I’m in the broom closet to and it’s always possible they could find out. All of this is very 7 of Swords energy, so it was a very apt pull for me that day. As for Fern and Growth, I’m not sure how to talk about that without being vague and it’s a bit more personal.

1/28/19:

Today there were more than a few times when I needed to have courage. I’ve got a chronic illness that makes it impossible for me to work, and my mental health issues can sometimes compound that. And I’m struggling to get disability but due to my age it’s difficult. Well, today I had a conversation with my mother about the latest rejection and we decided that I would get a lawyer, if I could, and contest the decision. I don’t need one, but I would feel better if I had someone there to advocate for me. I also spoke with a law firm today and that was very nerve racking. It was sort of impromptu and I’m not good with speaking to strangers in an impromptu capacity, and I had to do this twice without any warning because nobody gave me prior warning that they were going to set up a conversation for me. It’s one of those things that skyrockets my anxiety, and I had the feeling that I wanted to just give up and say never mind and refuse to speak to these people either on the computer or on the phone. I wanted to just give up and hide, but I managed to find the courage to do what had to be done despite those overwhelming feelings of “turn back.”

I have to admit that this time I’m a little stumped. Nothing of note really happened, certainly nothing to be cautious about. Unless perhaps it wasn’t talking about me, and more about things in a more abstract, big picture kind of way. I’ll have to think about it some more.

1/24/19 - 1/25/19

This one was long since it’s encompassing two days and utilizing pictures, too, so I put it under the cut.

1/24/19:

This was my card of the day for yesterday and I definitely noticed that there were a few instances where I needed to exercise patience. I can’t say that I handled all of those situations perfectly, but I do think I did well enough. It’s still something I need to work on, though, as patience has never been my strong suit.

1/25/19:

So, when I first got this I was a little paranoid because I’d been hearing weird noises about the house the day before. During the daytime, in the afternoon, I’d heard something that sounded almost like a window at the back of the house being lifted up, you know that sound the wood makes when it slides? That sound. And then late yesterday night something sounded like it had been thrown against the house. It didn’t make the right kind of noise to be ice falling against the house, and even if it had been a similar sound it was weird because the overhangs on the house are too far out to allow for ice to fall and hit the actual side of the house. It sounded like someone threw something against the house, hard. Hard enough to cause it to be heard all the way at the other end of the house (though admittedly our house isn’t big) and for anyone in the living room to feel the vibration from it.

So, this morning, when I turned over this card you can imagine my paranoia. However, I don’t think we’re being tormented or targeted. I think I was hearing things that sounded like something and may not have a fast explanation but which are not actually sinister in nature. So, I don’t think that’s what this card was talking about. What did happen, though, was that there were a lot of arguments around the house and I needed to employ both patience and caution in how I dealt with them. Which makes sense, because when I asked my question yesterday, I added “going into tomorrow” which would be today. So, the energy from both the Trout Lily and the Wormwood cards were at play today in no uncertain terms.

This blog is really just for me. I doubt anybody else would get anything out of it, even entertainment, but if you’ve stumbled across this and want to stick around then by all means. :)

Now, I feel like I ought to say right from the start that I’m not a professional reader. I’m a complete beginner. So, don’t take anything I say to heart about oracle or tarot or any other form of cartomancy. If you want to stick around just to see if there’s anything fun or because you like the art on the cards or because you like me, that’s cool. But, definitely don’t stick around because you think I’ve got anything important to say because I really don’t. :p
