Been having ‘a moment’ about my writing (maybe about lots of things), about my 3 big WIPs just languishing unfinished, about the smaller WIPs I just can’t seem to get a handle on, about how it’s never good enough, about what’s the point anyway, about about about…
So I read back the comments left for me, the lovely notes hidden in tags, and it picks me up a little. Gives me a smile after a really fucking hard day/week/month.
I’m not really saying anything, just that if you ever read someone’s fic and leave a comment just know it’s impactful. It’s a smiley face on someone’s coffee cup, it’s a little thing that makes such a difference to a persons day. And it’s even more amazing than that because it’s permanent and we can go back and re-read those messages whenever we like, little tags of serotonin, always there when we need a boost or a little burst of happiness.
I know people worry about what to say, worry that they’re not eloquent, and I totally feel that. Sometimes I leave a ❤️ when the words won’t word for me. I see one of those left for me and I smile. It all counts.
Basically, if you ever read anything I wrote, then thank you. ❤️ And if you ever left a comment then know I go back to it when I’m sad and it makes me smile and I’m so very grateful to you for it. ❤️
