Belchite, Aragon, Spain

Between August 24 and September 7, 1937, loyalist Spanish Republican and rebel General Franco's forces in the Spanish Civil War fought the Battle of Belchite in and around the town. 

After 1939 a new village of Belchite was built adjacent to the ruins of the old , which remain a ghost town as a memorial to the war.

Belchite’s Church of St. Augustine

The Church of St. Augustine is the center of the ruins of the old town of Belchite, which was destroyed in 1937 during the Spanish Civil War. After the war a new village was constructed adjacent to the ruins of the old which were left to the elements.

The ruins can be seen above in Pan's Labyrinth, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.
