this is so late but HELL YEAAAAA

he lives with his mom and step-mom in nyc. his mom makes a living tracking down and selling obscure/rare parts to repair and restore old cars, and his step-mom is a professional stunt double

his parents met when harley was about a year old, and got married when he was four.

he’s a year-round camper for the most part. he goes home for holidays, every two weeks in the summer (for two weeks), and every other weekend during the rest of the year. it helps that they live so close to camp.

it’s not that he’s a particularly powerful demigod (not yet, anyways), but his family lives in a pretty heavily populated area, and he grew up around cars and bikes, so his powers developed kind of early. he started getting noticed by monsters when he was a lot younger than most.

his mom can see through the mist. his step-mom can’t, but she knows about everything and is like super fascinated 

hasn’t ever met hephaestus (most of the cabin 9 kids haven’t)

“Who are you?”

She asked the woman in the mirror. She was taller, leaner, her hair shorn short to her skull. Her muscles were well defined and built. This woman was a force. She was also a woman Hazel had never seen before, but she was staring right back at her. This woman looked broken. So terribly broken and so terribly hollow. She looked like she could kill and not feel a thing. Hazel had killed. Hazel had torn her way through that base, only thinking of freedom freedom freedom. 

Hazel threw herself on the raggedy cot the freedom fighter laid out for her. But she didn’t cry. She laid there. emotions rolling off of her like waves into Lake Ponchartrain. Never sticking. All that hurt never sticking to her as she ran through it again and again in her head. She was going to get lost in it. Lost in all those bodies. Lost in all that past.

A knock at the door brought her back.

“Hello,” 

It was the older one, Bianca. Her eye was wrapped in gauze. Her arm in a ling. Her shotgun still strapped to her back. In her hand, she held a French military uniform.

“It’s a man’s.” she said in her slited English. “We don’t capture woman soldiers.”

Hazel thought that was a barb at her but she silently took the uniform

i don’t like frazel, reyna x apollo (but that’s a given) and nico x percy/jason. anything with an age gap like that, really. it’s not cool

yeah, absolutely

i never outright hated any pairings but the fandom definitely made me appreciate a lot of platonic relationships like reyna and jason

23. Unpopular character you love?

i wouldn’t say i love octavian, but i’m fascinated by his character. he was set up to be the cunning, power-hungry home-front antagonist, but he was depicted as silly and ridiculous instead. it contradicted his character, and the roman demigods/legacies as a whole are so interesting so it’s a shame everything we know about them is tangential
