Happy Beltane, everyone! I'd hoped to wait until it felt more like May Day to pst this, but the rain and unseasonably cold weather continues. Perhaps the lesson is that if I wait for sunshine I'll forget to appreciate the rain. We're getting far too much if it here in Missouri right now, and my heart goes out to all who have lost so much. Those of us who are in higher ground and safer need to count our blessings rather than curse the rain. Myself included. I thank God and Goddess for the many wonders of this season and ask for protection fir all who need it as the flood waters continue to rise. The picture is of an iris that has bloomed for the first time in our yard. Genevieve & I bought it and many others at the Iris show and sale at the Botanical Gardens last year. It was thus long dry tuber and looked like most wonderful things very ordinary, but with love, care, and patience, the ordinary becomes extraordinary. The tag with the name of the variety has vanished in the wet, so the iris is also a mystery, like most beautiful things. It is dotted with raindrops, but there was a bit of sunshine when I snapped the picture and there will be more sunny days ahead, until then I am going to do my utmost to find joy in the rain. I shall drink hot, black tea, blacker coffee, pet the dogs, be amused by the cat, and write.
