Tommy, you’re going to hurt yourself,” Ranboo warns. They’re currently stacked on top of each other, stapling a poster to the town square’s bulletin board.
“No I won’t!” the blonde argues, sticking his tongue out in concentration as he tries to get the poster as perfectly placed as possible. It still ends up being askew. “There! Now, anyone who wants to join will know where to come.”
“That’s great, but can you please get off of my shoulders,” Ranboo strains. For a kid so skinny, Tommy sure is a heavy weight on his shoulders. “How do we know this is gonna work anyways?”
Tommy jumps off of Ranboo’s shoulders with a grunt, “What’s that supposed to mean? You saying that no one will wanna come?” he says, offense evident on his face. Is Ranboo really trying to mock these legends?
“No, I think he means that nobody can read your shitty handwriting,” a voice from behind Tommy speaks up.
Tommy turns around, a light pink dusting his face at the insult— he blames it on the cold. “Shut up Tubbo, no one was talking to you.”
Tubbo sits cross-legged in the snow, both Tommy and Ranboo wonder how he can nonchalantly sit there as the snow melts and soaks through his trousers. “At least we did some work, you just sat there and watched,” Tommy argues, “And plus, no one's gonna pass up the opportunity to join a club all about the great Technoblade and Philza,” he clasps his hands together.
“I think they will when they find out that the club is run by a couple of 11 year olds,” Tubbo blatantly says, drawing shapes in the snow he sat near.
“Hey! I’m 12!” Ranboo retorts, “But seriously, Tommy, I really don’t think anyone is coming. No one even thinks they exist, everyone thinks we’re just kids with very active imaginations.”
“We are!”
“Shut up, Tubbo,” Tommy turns back to the enderman hybrid, “And they do exist! I’m gonna prove to everyone that they do!”
“How do you plan to do that when no one is gonna come to the meeting, Einstein,” Tubbo is now laying stomach down in the snow, hands holding his head up and legs kicking back and forth. The two other boys are truly baffled at how someone can have such a high tolerance to the freezing temperatures of their town.
Tommy kicks some snow on the ground in defiance, “I don’t even know who that is!” he bashfully admits, “Just you wait and see. Tomorrow, I’ll prove you both wrong at the club meeting!” he shouts.
“Tommy! Lunch is ready, get your ass inside before you freeze to death!”
The blonde huffs, “Wilbur’s calling me, I gotta go. You guys better be there for the meeting tomorrow,” he hears Wilbur call his name again and scowls, “I’ll leave the gate to my backyard open!” he yells as he runs to his house.

this is pretty much just the background of all the characters
sbi doesn't exactly live in the wealthiest place ever, their water and electricity gets cut often enough for them to have a supply of water, canned foods, batteries and rechargeable items
tommy is 15 at the start of the story
wilbur is 21, techno is 19-21,
techno acts like the older brother
the apocalypse starts when there's a very bad earthquake
tommy gets trapped in his room, phil forces it open, they go downstairs and hide under a table with techno and wil.
it's the worst (and longest) earthquake they've experienced
tommy is shaking he clings onto phil
wilbur is crying, he hugs tommy
earthquakes aren't rare, but they always were short and not that bad. tommy has always been scared of earthquakes
after the earthquake, they didn't have water or electricity
ranboo is an orphan, he was outside when the earthquake happened
police start go around many districts and kidnap people to test the virus in the first week
ranboo got experimented on, that's why he is half zombie. He wears long sleeves, gloves and a mask because of this
tubbo and ranboo met at a government facility (where they got experimented on) there were around 7 other people, some of them died
they managed to escape because of tubbo
wilbur and tommy sneaked out the day after the earthquake to see fundy and sally
phil didnt want them going out bc after big earthquakes there's always a lot of crimes and stuff like that (whether this is true or not he didn't want to take the risk)
fundy is a twelve y.o, he is adopted and trans
sally died very early on in the apocalypse
while visiting fundy, they saw a zombie for the first time
techno being very dramatic made a full plan in case anything goes wrong
sbi got separated, the groups were techno-phil and wilbur-tommy, later wilbur and tommy got separated because zombies were attacking them
in the back of tommy's mind he knows wilbur died trying to protect him but hes still in denial

Phil, Wilbur, and Tommy are the little people and Techno(is Shawn) who accidentally saw Tommy —and Wilbur after wanting to pull Tommy into safety when he realize Techno was looking— on the day Phil decided to bring Tommy on his first burrowing expedition with Wilbur.
