One of my favorite parts about Love! second years is how most of their relationships if we count Beppus as a single entity started with rivalry and/or disliking each other at some point.

Io and Ryuu? S2EP6 is all about their story and how they initially hated each other.

Ryuu and Akoya? No explanation needed.

Akoya and Io….well, that’s an exception, since Akoya Had Something for Io in S1, and Io was mostly polite around Akoya at the same time.  The only thing I can remember is Io being kinda cold to Akoya when the latter first approached the former in S1E6…but Akoya was the one who started the conversation by insulting Io’s friends, so that was deserved.

The twins…hated everyone, bless them. Though their main target was Yumoto, and everyone else just experienced the consequences of it. While the Defense Club was mostly neutral to them before and after Beppu revealed themselves as Vepper.

…I’m still thinking about that Ryuu’s line sometime, though.

I interpret this as Ryuu firmly believing that once Akoya returns from England, two of them will be able to dethrone the twins in no time, hence the rivalry…but that’s just me, of course.

And when Akoya returned, he and the twins…well.

It’s saying something that a very little time passed between the finale of the second season and the OVA (few weeks at max), and Akoya already admits that him agreeing with the twins in something is unusual, and nobody is surprised they are fighting over something but still united when it comes to picking on IoRyuu.

…No, but really, I enjoy this scene so much, why couldn’t we have had more of this?
