Happy 5th anniversary, FE3H!

7/5-26/2024, working on and off. Originally drawn in Platinum Preppy fountain pen, using Noodler's Ink. Then digitally traced and finished in Krita. Forgot to digitallly draw Bereto on a larger canvas, so shrunk the other chibi to fit his size.

Much needed digital practice.

Sooooo....  People are upset Byleth is the new Smash character?  What? I may be a Smash noob, but I thought you guys loved FE3H?  And Byleth looks like fun.  They’ve got an interesting stage, and Sothis in the Final Smash, and House members in the stage background,...  

Is this about everyone’s theories not coming to fruition?  ~_~;;;;;  Ughhh, give it a rest. You guys are starting to sound like the Star Wars fandom. ~o~;  The characters you want will probably be coming up in the future anyway. Listen, I wanted to see Dante or Sora too, but let’s have fun with what we got.

Chibi Byleth practice.

Digital drawing practice, tracing over scans of my 7/6/2024 analog sketches from my physical sketchbook (drawn in fountain pens and colored with Copic markers). I finally started to be less perfectionistic, allowed my digital linework to not be exactly like my analog drawings, stopped relying on vector drawing, and the process felt freer and much faster. I figured out that drawing with Stabilization is less like drawing with an analog tool on paper, and more like carving, wherein I see what the tool is doing and try to curb it, rather than expecting the tool to do exactly what I think, then getting frustrated that it's not. I don't think I'll get the type of barrier-less "flow" between my hand/mind and a digital stylus, that I have with an analog drawing tool. So for now, these practice drawings have taught me that maybe that's ok, and to think of digital drawing in a different way.

Happy 4th anniversary, Fire Emblem: Three Houses!

It's been 4 years since FE3H released on 7/26/2019.

Google said that 4th anniversaries are celebrated with the color blue or green. So I used the green and blue that I usually use for Byleth before merging with Sothis.

Byleth gets a Persona? (Super Smash Bros. Comic Dub) by  Nullified

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – Mr. Sakurai Presents "Byleth" by  Nintendo

Well, there goes everyone’s theories.  lol  I should have seen this one coming.  It’s like it was so obvious, with it’s current popularity and strong connection to Switch/Nintendo, that we didn’t really think about Byleth.  And honestly, even during the reveal trailer, Sothis suddenly pulling out that Smash Bros invitation still really surprised me.  It was like a normal FE3H cutscene, then BAM!  Talking about Smash all of a sudden.  LOL  

Such a relief that female Byleth appeared.  For a second, I was afraid it would only be male Byleth, even though it’d be an easy skin switch.  lol  

It was really funny seeing Byleth take on all the other Smash swordsmen, and die just as an excuse to go back to Sothis for the gender switch.  lol  

Interesting to learn Byleth actually had 2 different names in Japanese.  o.o  Male = Bereto.  Female = Beresu.  

Love the alternate costume colors representing each house, plus Sothis. ^.^

Still can’t get Morgana’s voice out of my head when I hear Sothis.  Which is fine with me.  ^__^  Hope to see more Sothis and Morgana cross-over fan-art now.

I like that the bridge lends itself to using a bow/arrow, and Claude is there since he’s an archer.  

And love hearing that FE3H music in Smash.  ^_^

Though, I wish that those posters of Byleth behind Sakurai matched better.  Male Byleth should either be smiling as well, or Female Byleth should also be wearing that bad-ass hard expression.  I demand symmetry!  LOL

Assassins’ Creed and Cuphead as Mii Fighters?  O.o!?  Well, I know some people were hoping for Cuphead to join Smash, but was anyone expecting Assassins’ Creed?

Sakurai is pretty funny for a guy who should be dead tired.  lol
