Grace Clinton x reader
Summary: Y/n Y/l/n didn't think she would ever get back to the standard
Word Count: 2.2k
Warnings: Grace didn't leave spurs in this and signed a permanent contract at the end of her loan spell.
Being a skier, the Winter Olympics were the highest honour, the ultimate chance to represent your country, and Y/n never thought she would have that opportunity again after what had happened four years ago.
*Flashback to four years ago*
Y/n had been skiing for as long as she could walk, and for as long as she could remember, she had wanted to compete at an Olympic Games. Getting the opportunity to do so at only 16 years old was something she had never even dreamt of or thought would be possible.
"Have I got to babysit you now we're all the way in China?" Kirsty jokes.
"Kirsty, you are literally only a year older than me. By that logic, we both need babysitting," Y/n responds, rolling her eyes as she sits down on the bed nearest the window.
"Well, either way, we have a big few weeks ahead of us, and as much as I love you, when we get up that mountain, we are not friends and I am absolutely going to beat you," Kirsty laughs.
"Sure you are. I'll believe that when it actually happens, because from where I'm standing that has never happened," Y/n jokes back.
"Bring it on, Y/l/n."
A few days later, it was time for Y/n and Kirsty’s first event: the big air. This was something Kirsty had actually been doing and competing in for a few years longer than Y/n in junior competitions, but it definitely was not her strongest event.
The first jump was almost perfect and, because of the running order, Y/n was one of the last to go. That meant she was in first place going into the second run - until it happened.
Y/n went into the second run knowing her routine exactly. She had practised it enough to know it like the back of her hand, and because of the success of the first run, she knew she didn’t have to push too far. As long as she landed, she would be in a good position for the final qualifying run. But as many know, one wrong move in any ski event (or many winter sports altogether) can change everything for the worse.
She didn’t even know how it really happened. Her entry was fine, but once she was in the air there must have been too much rotation. Before she knew it, she had lost control of her skis and, before she could try to regain it, she came crashing down. She’d seen bad crashes and had heard others talk about what it felt like - injuries were part of sport - but nothing could have prepared her for the pain that hit instantly on impact with the snow. Y/n tried to get up despite the pain shooting up her leg and arm, but as soon as she tried to move, she realised there was no chance she was walking away from this.
Before Y/n could really think anything else, she was surrounded by medics and people from her team crowding around her, trying to help and move her so they could get her off the slope and get her the help she clearly needed.
"Y/n, can you hear me? Try and relax so they can help you. It's going to be okay," her coach reassures her.
"Where are my sisters? Did Dotty see it?" Y/n asks, realising that both her older and younger sisters are in the crowd, not wanting her little sister to see her like this.
"It's okay, Kirsty’s with them because she was down here already. You need to stop trying to move, Y/n/n. We need to get you to the hospital to get you properly checked out."
After what felt like a lifetime, but was really only a few hours, it was determined that Y/n had a very bad broken leg and a fractured arm. It could have been so much more serious - or so Y/n thought - until she heard that her leg was so badly broken there was a chance that, even with the surgeries she needed, she might never be able to compete at this level again.
*Back to present day*
"I'm so proud of you, Y/n/n," Beth, Y/n's older sister, says as she starts to get her things together to pack her bag. "You've worked so hard to get back to this level. You're going to do great," Beth reassures her, clearly able to tell that her younger sister is nervous about getting injured again.
"Y/n/n?" comes the little voice of Dotty, who was now nearly ten years old.
"Yes, Dot, what's up, kiddo?" Y/n responds.
"Two things," Dotty starts. "One, where’s Gracie? And two, when you are finished being the best skier ever, can we go away like we used to?" she asks.
"Grace is at the shop, she'll be back soon. And yeah, that’s the plan, Dot, we’re all going to go on holiday together," Y/n replies, and, almost on cue, the front door opens, and Grace walks into the kitchen where all three sisters are now sitting. She walks over to Y/n and gives her a quick kiss on the temple. "Hiya, babe, how were the shops?" Y/n asks.
"Busy, but I think I managed to get everything, so we're all set," Grace responds.
"Gracieeee!" Dotty announces.
"Yes, Dot, what's up, darling?" Grace asks, turning all her attention to the youngest sister - something that always made Y/n smile.
"Will you come and play with me? Beth and Y/n/n are boring," Dotty declares.
"Of course I can come and play. They are very boring, aren’t they?" Grace laughs as she is dragged off by Dotty to go and play.
"Your girlfriend is actually going to get stolen by your younger sister," Beth jokes.
"Going to? It’s already happened. We all know it’s Dotty’s world; we’re just living in it," Y/n laughs.
A few days later, Y/n lands in Milan, ready for the Games to begin later that week. Beth, Dotty, and Grace are all coming out in a few days, with both Y/n's older sisters’ and her girlfriend’s football schedules somehow lining up with the Games, which means they were able to go and watch Y/n.
"Y/n/n, so the rumours are true—you’re back," she hears from behind her as she is settling into the room she'll be staying in for the next few weeks, only to be greeted by her old roommate from when they were both kids.
"Kirst, I know, right. It’s been a while. You need to get better at responding to messages."
*skip another couple of days*
Today was the day that Y/n never thought she would get to experience again, she was back competing at Olympic standard, with the first event being the slalom. This event had always been Y/n strongest but that didn't stop how nervous she was for her first run, although she had been back in training and competing for nearly two years now, it was still always in the back of her head that something similar to the injury could happen again, but Y/n knew better than anyone that when it actually came to her run that she had to put that to the back of her mind and fully concentrate on her run, otherwise that is where injuries happened.
The first run went by pretty uneventfully for Y/n, it went to plan, but nothing special, placing her comfortably in 5th place going into the second and final run later in the day. Y/n knew that she had a lot of work to do if she wanted to move up the rankings in the final standings but if she was completely honest 5th place was very impressive for her first big competition back. Of course though, being happy and content with where she was sat, still wouldn't be enough for Y/n and she would love to push further, and in a dream world push for a medal position finish.
Standing at the gate waiting for her second run felt like a lifetime, there was only 4 skiers to go after her and there had been a lot of people falling and so Y/n was currently sat in 7th place. Whilst she is making her way through the run, Y/n thinks it is going to plan, she doesn't want to get too confident but she thinks that it is going very well. Getting to the bottom of the run felt both a relieve and terrifying at the same time, now came the agonising wait to see where she would be on the standings.
After what felt like forever, it was time, Y/n looked up to the board, ready for it to come up, Y/n knew she had done all she could and that was something she could be proud of, and whatever place it turned out to be, Y/n could feel that this was only the beginning and without other injuries, there was big times ahead of her. When she finally saw the results come up, Y/n didn't quite believe it, she was currently sat in first place, with only 4 skiers left to go.
"Oh my God, Y/n/n!" Kirsty practically screams as she runs over to Y/n.
"Calm down Kirst, it's not done yet, there's still people to go," Y/n says, trying to stay calm.
"I don't care that was absolutely amazing, give yourself some credit,"
"I'll give myself the credit when we know for sure,"
Kirsty just rolls her eyes, keeping an arm around Y/n's shoulders as they stand there, watching the next few runs. Now Y/n would never ever wish for anyone to fall and not finish a run, but when the next two skiers fall, confirming Y/n a medal finish, she can't deny that there is a part of her which got rather excited.
"Two more to go, you nervous?" Kirsty asks.
"Shitting it, I can't believe this is happening," Y/n replies.
"I am so proud of you, this is absolutely amazing,"
"Even after a big injury, I'm still beating you," Y/n teases.
"Okay okay no need to rub it in,"
Kirsty just laughs and then they both go back to watching the screen, the person currently sat in third place seemed to be having a good run, she did not fall and Y/n was convinced that it was a better run that hers, but when it came up on the screens, the time was only good enough for second.
One more skier to go.
At least a silver medal secured.
On her first proper attempt.
Y/n couldn't look, she couldn't believe this was happening and right in that moment she couldn't be more grateful for all the people who helped her through her injury and helped her to get back to where she was today.
"It's done, you can look now, I think you've done it Y/n/n," Kirsty says as the last athlete gets to the bottom of the piste.
When it is confirmed on the board, Y/n didn't celebrate straight away, instead she went over to the other two athlete's who have finished in the medal places to congratulate them on their achievements.
"Well done, you were both brilliant," Y/n says as she gets to where they were both stood.
"I think we should be saying that to you, you were brilliant, well done on coming back from the injury,"
"Thank you so much, I can't believe this is happening to be honest," Y/n admits.
"Well enjoy it, well done again," She says as she begins to walk off.
Y/n turns back to the crowd where she knows Dotty, Beth and Grace will be, finding them at the front straight away and running over to them, finally letting herself celebrate what she has actually just done.
"Y/n/n!!" Dotty shouts before her older sister gets over, and when she does she picks her baby sister up and gives her a cuddle.
"You were amazing babe, well done I'm so proud," Grace practically shouts as Y/n gives her half a hug, only having one hand because of still holding Dotty.
"We are all so proud of you, so proud," Beth adds.
"You were sooooo fast Y/n/n," Dotty says, elongating the words in her typical toddler way.
After the medal ceremony Y/n goes back over to her sisters and girlfriend and they all go to spend some time together, getting dinner and then just celebrating Y/n's achievement. Although Y/n loves that her sisters are out in Italy, she is quite excited when Beth takes Dotty off to bed and that leaves Y/n and Grace alone for a little while for the first time all day.
"So I finally get my olympian gold medal winning girlfriend to myself," Grace smirks.
"I suppose you do, although I technically need to be heading back in a little while, my coach may shout at me if I stay out partying all night," Y/n responds.
"What if we aren't out, what if just us are very much inside all night?"
"Gracie, no, when I'm finished after the next event and we are on holiday, we can spend as much time alone together as you want, well apart from when Dotty inevitably interrupts, but at the moment I do need to go back,"
"Fine, but only because you're amazing," Grace admits.

Summary: Your mummy and mamma are getting married.
"Are you sure she is going to be ok with it? I know I'm not her parent"
"Steph I am going to stop you right there, you are just as much a parent to Y/n as I am, you are the one who has been there since she was born, yes he may be her biological parent but you are her mamma"
"But I just don't want her to think that I'm taking you away or anything"
"She won't think that, she loves you, now come on we need to tell her at some point, I promise you it is going to go well, I know it"
"Ok then, here goes nothing"
The older women both then walk upstairs and into your bedroom where you are playing with your toys.
"Baby me and mamma need to talk to you quickly is that ok?" Beth says as her and steph sit down on your bed.
"Okay mummy, what is it?" You reply as you climb on your bed and sit inbetween them.
"Well you know the other night when you stayed at your auntie Martha's for the night, and me and mamma went out"
"Yeah, it was so much fun, Marty let me feed and walk Skye with her"
"That sounds so good baby, but on that night, I took your mamma out and I asked her a very important question, I asked her to marry me"
"What does that mean mamma?" You ask, turning to cuddle more into Steph.
"Well do you remember when we went to that big party a few years ago, for auntie Amy and Haz?"
"Yeah and they kissed, that was eww" You reply getting a laugh out of your parents.
"Well that is what is going to happen with us, and then after we can officially say that mamma is your parent, how does that sound baby?" Beth says, smiling at how close you were.
"But she already is my mamma isn't she?"
"Of course I am darling, but this just makes it even more official, so are you ok with this?"
"Of course I am mamma, now will you play with me?"
"Of course I will babygirl"
Steph moves off your bed and onto the floor with you and starts to play whatever it was you were playing before they came into your room and told you their news, Beth just takes in the scene in front of her.
"Mummy you have to play too"
"Yeah mummy, don't be boring" Steph teases too, taking any chance to gang up on Beth with you.
"Well actually I was wondering if anyone want to go to the park? We need to take Buddy out for a walk"
"I want to go to the park!" You practically shout, very excited.
"Right come on then, let's go get our shoes on and our coats and then we'll go"
"Ok, come on mamma" You say as you stand up and drag Steph downstairs to help you with your shoes.
You then all spend the rest of the day having some good family time, and once you've gone to bed and Beth and Steph are sat on the sofa, random tv show playing in the background.
"I told you she would love it" Beth says.
"I guess you did"
"I love watching you two together, you are so good with her and it makes me realise how much I love you more every time"
"Aww look at you being all soft, I love you too babe" Steph replies as she yawns, clearly trying to stay awake.
"Right by that, I think it is about time we go to bed, don't you"
"That sounds amazing"
They both go upstairs and get ready for bed before getting in and laying down, they both fall asleep pretty quickly. During the night, Steph feels something tapping against her arm, assuming it's just the dog nudging her for attention she doesn't think too much of it, until she hears a little voice.
"Mamma?"
"Oh hello baby, what's wrong? Have you been crying"
"I had a scary dream" You sob out.
"Ahh that's not good baby, don't cry it's ok, do you want to get in with me and mummy? Have a cuddle"
"Yes please"
"Ok come on then, try and get back to sleep, you're safe"
After that you fall back asleep, curled up in Steph's arms.
*Skip 10 months*
The day had finally came, your mums were getting married and you were very happy to be wearing the dress that matched with your auntie Emily and the other bridesmaids as your mummy kept saying.
"You look like a little princess today don't you"
"Auntie Emily!" You yell as you run over to where she just walked into the room, jumping into her arms "I missed you"
"I missed you too kiddo, how have you been?"
"Good, I've been practicing my football"
"Wow have you, you'll have to show me how good you are"
"Yeah"
After that your mamma comes over and gives Emily a kiss on the cheek.
"Hiya, you alright?"
"yeah all good, you ready?"
"Yeah, a little nervous but also can't wait if that makes sense, and there's one detail no one knows yet, not even Beth"
"And that is? If I am allowed to know"
"This little one is going to be walking down the aisle with me so she's there when it happens, we wanted her to be a part of it and I know it will mean more than anything to Beth"
"That is so cute, Beth is going to love it, right it's about time"
"Ok, come on then baby, can you hold my hand?"
"But mummy said I was walking with auntie Emily" You say, clearly confused.
"There's been a change in plan, I thought it would be nice if you were there with me and mummy"
"Yay ok" You say as you reach up to grab Steph's hand.
*Beth's pov*
I'm standing there when the bridesmaids start to walk down the aisle but when I can't see Y/n it does panic me a little bit, what if she got scared and I wasn't there as her mum to look after her. All my worry disappears however when I see Steph starting to walk towards me and I notice she has Y/n walking alongside her, smiling up at her mamma, it brings the feeling of tears pricking my eyes at the sight of the two most important people in my life getting along.
*Back to normal pov*
"Hello love, hiya babygirl" Beth says as you and Steph get up to where she is stood, the latter picking you up.
"Hi mummy, I walked with mamma"
"I saw, are you going to stay up here with us?"
"I think she is yeah, I thought it would be a nice surprise for you"
"It was a lovely surprise"
The wedding was beautiful, very intimate with your close friends and family. After the ceremony there is a lot of time where you are just in your mummy's arms as she says thank you to all the people who have come, your mamma standing next to you both.
"Mummy?"
"Yes baby"
"Can I have a cuddle with mamma for a bit?"
"Of course you can, come here darling" Your mamma answers, taking you in her own arms.
The rest of the evening you just run around, having been changed out of your dress due to both your mums knowing that you would end up wanting to run around and that you would be more comfortable.
"She isn't far from crashing, she'll be curled up in one of our laps before we know it" Beth comments.
"Bless her, she looked so cute earlier on though, somehow cuter than usual" Steph responds, looking at you dancing with Martha.
"I love you babe, you know the main thing I worried about when we started seeing each other was is she would like you and if you would like her, but seeing you two interact is probably the favourite part of my day." Beth admits.
"Of course I love her, she is the cutest girl ever, speaking of her crashing, here she comes." Steph points as Martha is walking over with you in her arms.
"Think you have quite the tired girl here" Martha comments as she goes to place you onto Beth's lap.
"No, mamma" You say quietly.
"Ok come here then babygirl" Steph says as she takes you from Martha's arms and you snuggle straight into her arms.
"Oh ok someone is definitely sleepy, did all the dancing tire you out?"
"Yeah, and chasing auntie Martha"
"Yeah she's not the only one who's tired" Martha chuckles as she sits down, having more of her drink.
It doesn't take long before Steph looks down and notices that you are fast asleep on her chest, Beth having got up a few minutes ago to go and thank people for coming who had to leave for whatever reason.
"Right I think it is time that we get this one to bed" Beth says as she walks over.
"Good plan, I can take her if you want to stay down here with everyone"
"No it's fine, I want to come up with you both, would rather be with you two anyway"
"You Bethany England are going soft, but ok come on lets go to bed"
Your mums say night to everyone and tell them they are welcome to stay for as long as they want before the three of you go upstairs - they had decided to have the reception at their house for this very reason - and Steph gets you changed carefully, trying not to wake you, before she tucks you into bed and kisses you on the forehead before leaving your room, turning the light off but leave the door slightly open, you didn't like it being completely dark in your room when you slept.
"She ok?" Beth says as Steph walks in, getting changed before getting in bed next to her wife.
"Yeah didn't even wake up, fast asleep, now stop worrying, can I have some time with my wife instead of our daughters mum"
"Of course you can, come here Mrs Williams-England"
"You can call me that more often" Steph smirks as she cuddles up next to Beth.
A/n: Enjoy, I actually low-key like this for once, I could've carried on but I feel like this is the right length.
Obviously in love // Grace Clinton
a/n: based off this request:)
Grace Clinton liked you.
You liked Grace Clinton.
Everybody knew.
Everybody but the two of you.
Several occasions showed exactly that.
-
It started with the many superstitions the two of you had or rather shared. The girls would always tease you about it while both of you claimed and often argued that you‘d play horrible if not doing so.
1.) Grace always had to do your hair. Each time she would do a different hairstyle, each of them done perfectly as your hair wouldn‘t ever get in the way, no matter what happened.
2.) You had to tie her boots. Yes, she was able to do it herself, (like you were capable of doing your hair yourself) but something about you tying her shoes gave her enough confidence to shoot from every angle and distance on the pitch. And score goals.
3.) "ready to win?"
"Ready whenever you are"
-
"Popcorn!" Celin shouted as she entered the living room with three bowels of popcorn balancing in her hands.
The Tottenham girls were sat around the couches, arm chairs and bean bags as the movie marathon was about to begin.
Grace and you shared a bean bag, yourself sitting in between her legs while your back rested against her front and her arms were loosely wrapped around your mid section. "Try not to fall asleep to soon, yeah pretty girl?" the midfielder purred, in responds your hands pinched her thighs "If i remember correctly it was you who snored like a grizzly bear the last time" you giggled as Gracie attacked you with pokes in your side. She only stopped when she felt a smack against the back of her head, "movie starts" the captain stated. You settled back in her arms while she pulled you closer.
Her arms brought you a type of comfort nobody ever could.
-
It was save to say that Grace loved the spare key she had to your home. She used it at every opportunity she got, opening the door when you were with her "I have my own key, I can open the door for us" proudly showing the key on her key chain. Or other than that, letting herself in when you weren‘t there as she made herself a home and even using the key when you were at home but didn‘t expect her to come over.
You stood in the kitchen, preparing your dinner when you felt arms snuggling around your waist, a head resting on your shoulder. You shrieked, caught completely off guard as you yet melted in the grasp, your favourite scent filling the air.
"Gracie! You promised me!" you grumbled, turning around as you stared at the midfielder with crossed arms, "you can‘t just come over and use the spare key! It‘s for emergencies"
"It is an emergency!" she defended herself, arms up in surrender.
"What‘s the emergency, hm?"
"I missed you" she stated, pulling you close before she hid her face in the crook of your neck, mumbling something inaudible.
You sighed, asking "Do you want some dinner?" your fingers combing through her hair.
"Yes, please"
-
"You‘re staring" the voice of Beth appeared next to you, calling you back to reality.
"What did you say?"
"You‘ve got something in your eye" she repeated as you looked at her, "what? Where?" trying to find what and in which eye.
"Grace"
You glared at her while she laughed her ass off.
"Shut up!" you hit her arm, Grace already skeptically looking at the two of you from the other side of the pitch, about to make her way over.
"Come one, you like her" Beth said now in an softer tone, "and she likes you"
"We‘re best friends!" you replied, slight anger in your voice.
"Whatever you say, babes"
-
After tossing and turning for hours, you came to the realization that you weren‘t able to sleep. You didn‘t why but it annoyed you. Physically you were tired, your eyes closing every now and then but you just couldn’t fall into a deep slumber.
Not knowing what to do, but desperately in the need and want of sleep, you reached for your phone.
"Hello?" The sleepy voice rasped.
"Gracie?"
"What‘s wrong? Are you okay?" She shot up from her bed, you never called at such a late hour and with the shakiness in your voice she thought of the worst.
"I don‘t know, sorry. Forget about it" you mumbled, regretting that you called her at 3am.
"Wait-" but you had already hung up. You would find a way to sleep.
On the other side of the phone, Grace was already out of bed, throwing a hoodie and joggers over her pyjama. She raced through the apartment, every possible light on, searching for eventually needed stuff, not being bothered by the noises she made which woke up her flatmate.
"What are you doing? It‘s in the middle of the night" Celin said, leaning in her door frame while she rubbed her eyes.
"Something’s wrong"
"Do we have an intruder?!" she yelled, grabbing for the nearest weapon in her room.
"What? No. Something‘s wrong with my- Y/N"
Celin watched Grace pace through the kitchen, collecting your favourite snacks which she had stored in her home in case you hung out here, craving some of them.
"When are you going to tell her that you like her?"
"We‘re best friends"
"Are you telling me that or yourself? Everybody knows you like each other"
In silence, she put on her shoes, backpack filled with essentials before she rushed out of the house.
When she opened the door, she was met with darkness. Because of this, she assumed that you were in your bedroom. Gently, she opened the door-
"What the fuck!" you yelled, frightened. You switched on your lamp, staring at the midfielder, "you scared the shit out of me!" suddenly wide awake.
"I scared the shit out of you? You scared the shit out of me!" she replied, putting down her backpack and walking over to 'her' side of the bed - the side she slept in when she was staying over. "What are you doing here?" you asked, already knowing the answer.
"You called me and then hung up on me all of sudden." she slipped under the duvet, closing the distance, "I was worried" her hands found your waist, pulling you in her grasp before she continued, "what‘s wrong? There’s a reason you called me, so please don‘t say 'nothing'"
Looking away from her, you could feel your cheeks heating up embarrassingly.
"I couldn’t- can‘t sleep" you muttered, "and I can always sleep when you‘re here, so-"
"you thought asking me to come over would help until you realized it’s three in the morning?" she finished your sentence.
you nodded.
"I‘m sorry"
"Don’t be, I’m glad you called me" the girl tangled your legs together, resting her head on the pillow, "Besides, it's a full moon, no wonder you couldn't sleep"
With that being said, you hugged her back, resting your head on her chest like you always did.
And within a few minutes you were asleep, the rhythm of her heartbeat lulling you into a slumber.
-
Derbies were always rough matches, especially when it was Arsenal.
As it was now.
Grace and you were both in the starting lineup, excited to play against the gunners - some of your national teammates.
"Ready to win?" you asked Gracie, the girl already staring at you with heart eyes (which was unnoticed by you).
"Ready whenever you are" she replied, smiling - an unspoken rule to have this small conversation while you waited in the tunnel - Grace always lined up behind you.
In the first half, both teams had their chances, sadly none of Tottenhams and thankfully none of Arsenals leading to a goal.
With Katie McCabe on your side, it was rather physically exhausting, the Irish woman challenging you in more than one way. Each time, Grace saw you hitting the ground, she was about to rip Katie‘s head off, only calming down when she saw you get up right away. Yet her anger was still very much present in the break. She was holding your hand tightly, in the need of your touch to reduce her anger.
In the first few minutes after halftime, Alessia opened the score, fueling more pressure on the team for the equalizer. The game got rougher and more physical as tackles came sliding in from multiple players.
When Tottenham was awarded a corner kick and it came flying in your direction, you jumped up, trying to head it somewhere near the goal. But instead of hitting the ball, you felt another head smack against yours.
Grace watched in horror as you went down while her legs started to work on their own - sprinting towards you. Blood trickled down your forehead, making the midfielders stomach twist. Multiple people were at your side, including the Arsenal player who caused your injury. She pushed everybody aside, kneeling down next to you, "Get the fuck away from my girl" pure venom laced in her voice as she shoved the gunner away, her full attention on you and you only. You had a nasty cut on your forehead, eyes barely staying open. You could hear your favourite voice talking, but you didn‘t understand what she was saying - was she even talking to you? All you knew was that her hand was holding yours. You knew her touch. You‘d always recognize her touch - no matter what.
"Mate, what‘s your problem?!" Katie McCabe snarled, matching her attitude while pulling her on her collar. "My problem?!" Grace jumped up, her hands bloody from holding yours, "She‘s fucking bleeding"
"And? Everybody hurts themselves. It‘s a physical game after all!"
"She‘s not just anyone!" with that she shoved Katie to the floor, all her anger bubbling over. Of course, the defender was up on her feet in less than 10 seconds, starting to shove Grace around, both of them yelling at each other.
Katie had to be held back by Leah and Kim while Beth and Ashleigh pulled Grace away who was still shouting at the Irish woman.
How dare she to say anything about you?!
-
Winning the fa cup against Manchester United was amazing and something massive. Tottenham made history that day. Unfortunately, Grace wasn‘t allowed to play yet that didn’t stop her from cheering for the spurs, especially for you. When you scored the opening goal, Grace thought her heart might explode with all the pride she felt and when Marta made it 3-1 in the 89‘. The deal was settled.
After receiving your medals and the pitch-celebrations died down, the team decided to go out tonight.
When you entered the bar/club, you were met with very loud but fancy music, people dancing everywhere and a few of your mates sitting at a table chatting. Not in the mood to dance just yet, you joined them, greeting everybody before taking a seat in Grace‘s lap - nothing new.
Her mouth fell open as she almost drooled at the sight of you, "you look- wow" she breathed out, completely in love with you.
"Thank you!" you grinned, " you don‘t look bad yourself" while checking her out the best you could - but indeed, she wasn‘t looking bad, she looked gorgeous.
"Do you want a drink?" she asked, squeezing your hips.
"Yes, that would be nice" you replied, making no move to get up, "don‘t you want to ask what drink I‘d like?"
"I know you quite well by now" with that she got up before gently guiding you back down in her chair.
While Celin tried to make conversation with you, you only had eyes for the midfielder, admiring her from afar. You frowned when a lady approached her and started talking to her. Your jaw clenched, chest tightening as you glared daggers into the woman’s head. What‘s her problem? the strangers hand touched Grace‘s arm as she discreetly stepped closer. "Someone is flirting with Y/N‘s girl" one of the girls teased, your friends laughing at her joke. That comment made your jealousy grow, your hands balling into fists as you tried to keep your cool. "Aren‘t you going to do something?" Charli asked, sensing your frustration.
With a huff you got up, marching over to the beast who was talking to the beauty.
Stepping between both of them, you leaned against the counter, "hi! I‘m her girlfriend and you are?" your voice sounded firm and stern, Grace taken aback by your statement and your sudden outburst.
"Sorry" the girl was quick to flee the scene, not wanting any drama as well because she was scared and intimidated by you and your presence.
After the girl was gone, Grace grabbed your hips, pulling your back against her front, "What was that?" she asked, her voice raspy.
"That creature was flirting with you" you replied stubbornly, crossing your arms as you tried to leave her touch.
"Stop" Grace grumbled, pulling you back, "relax" she ordered softly, her arms wrapping fully around your midsection. As on cue, you melted in her embrace, letting all anger flow away.
"So, what was that?"
"What was what? I just wanted my drink" you answered yet defensively.
"None of that, it‘s me" she whispered as you intertwined your fingers, "were you jealous?"
You sighed, "yes"
The young lioness froze, she didn‘t expect you to be straight up honest with her. She knew you had never lied to her and she wouldn‘t assume that you would ever lie at her, but she indeed thought that you would avoid admitting your obvious jealousy.
"I don‘t like it when other people flirt with you" you mumbled after you had turned around, looking at her.
Not wanting to push you any further, she kissed your forehead in responds before guiding you on the dance floor.
"They‘re disgustingly cute" Charli told Celin as they watched the two of you dance.
"And obviously so in love"

Summary: You're scrappy
The day that it first happens is the match against United.
It's a home game and you're very familiar with the layout as you sit by one of the girls on the bench on your leash and watch.
Mam, predictably, gets a yellow card and you screech your outrage at the ref no matter how much nice Lotte tries to calm you down.
You think Lotte is an alright babysitter but she's very easy to get to do what you want and you know Mummy doesn't like that sometimes. You think she's told Lotte that too because she's got a tight grip on your leash and doesn't let you wander into Jonas' box to scream like you can usually get her to do.
So, you have to amuse yourself by tearing up grass and getting your hands all dirty.
The game ends with a narrow win for Arsenal and Mummy comes to get you very quickly.
You tug at the buckles of your leash. "Off! Off, Mummy!"
"Sorry, gremlin," Mummy laughs," But you have to be on the leash. You know why."
You stamp your foot as Mummy cleans your hands.
"Mam not on leash!" You say finally," Mam was naughty! Yellow rectangle for Mam!"
You're making a good point. Caitlin doesn't want to quite admit that though. You're on the leash because you're naughty sometimes and Katie definitely did get a yellow card today.
She sighs.
It's not the same at all but, for the sake of fairness, Caitlin lets you win this round.
Begrudgingly and definitely to avoid a tantrum, she unclips your leash.
You look positively delighted and she catches your arm before you go running off.
"Stay where me or Mam can see you," She says," And no biting people."
You nod. "I not bite."
"Alright," She says," Go on, run wild."
You giggle hysterically as you run off. You've not quite mastered running though because you trip a few times before pulling yourself up again.
You wander through the crowd of players until you spot the United keeper that saved Mummy's goal.
That's kind of naughty, you think. Saving Mummy's goal shouldn't be allowed.
The girl's kind of tall and she looks strong. She's wearing a different coloured shirt to the other United girls so you can easily track her through the crowd.
She's talking to Leah too and you know how to recognise Leah.
When people are naughty, you usually like to bite them but Mummy told you that you're not allowed to bite today so you choose the next best thing.
Mam says you're scrappy sometimes. You don't know what that means but you think it applies to this situation.
You creep up behind the girl before slamming the top of your head into the back of her knee.
She crumbles to the ground instantly, folding over like the pieces of paper that Mam uses to make paper planes.
"Mary!" Leah shrieks as the girl rolls onto her back.
"What the fuck?!"
You stand over her and wiggle your finger right in front of her face. You stamp your foot for good measure. "No save Mummy goal! Is naughty!"
"What-? Who are you?!"
Leah's hand pulls you further away. "This is Katie and Caitlin's kid," She says," Gremlin, say sorry."
"No! Say sorry first! Save Mummy's goal!"
Thankfully, this United girl (once she's recovered from her sudden fall) takes it in her stride.
"I'm sorry, kid," She laughs," It was only doing my job."
"Naughty job!" You insist," Not happen again!"
It's not exactly an isolated incident either. It seems after every match, you find some player to fight with.
It freaks most of them out, you think, because they're big and strong and you're tiny but still very capable of getting them to the grounds.
You surprise lots of people like Auntie Macca and Auntie Lanni, who find it all so funny that they send you off to do it to their teammates too.
Mummy doesn't like it though. She says that she's raising a delinquent and Mam says it's the McCabe genes, whatever that means.
You're not stingy in who you attack. Everyone is free game but there's one person that you really enjoy fighting with.
Her name's Beth. Beth England, to be exact because there's already a Beth at Arsenal and this one plays for Spurs instead.
Mam says that Spurs is Arsenal's number one rival and you have to hate them because they play in white and white is a colour you can never keep clean.
Beth England wears the armband that Captain Kim wears so you can easily recognise her in a crowd.
She's your nemesis.
That's a big word that Mummy taught you when you were watching Phineas and Ferb a few days ago.
"You need to be very good if I let you off," She says to you and you nod even though you're lying," I mean it. No fighting with Spurs players."
You lie again and nod.
"Alright, give me a kiss first and I'll let you go."
You give Mummy a big wet kiss and immediately, you're on your way.
Mam joins you on your journey and she demonstrates how to hold your fist if you're going to fight someone. She thinks your rivalry with Beth England is funny.
Mummy doesn't like her encouraging it but she does.
"Nem-sis!" You screech when Mam guides you over.
Beth England looks confused. "Nem-sis?"
"She means nemesis," Mam explains," It's her word of the week."
"Oh, right."
"Nem-sis!" You screech again to regain her attention. "Fight me!"
Beth England clears her throat before mimicking your position and putting up her fists.
You run at her.
You don't think she expects that. You think she thinks you were going to punch her but Mam says the element of surprise is important so you crash into her legs and try to topple her over.
She stays standing and you're unable to move her but you don't stop trying.
Behind your head, Katie smothers a laugh and gives Beth a pointed look.
She nods and very carefully lays on the ground like you've forced her over.
You look triumphant and sit on her stomach to stop her from getting up again.
You poke her right between her eyes. "Arsenal best!" You proclaim," Say!"
"Never!"
"Arsenal best!" You bounce on her stomach to show that she's not going anywhere. "Say!"
"You can't make me!"
"Say or! Or go on leash for being naughty!"
That's it. You've got her trembling under your might now and she goes limp.
"Arsenal's the best!" She proclaims," Arsenal's the best! Don't put me on the leash!"
"Good!" You stand up and wiggle your finger at her. "London red! Not dirty white!"
You run back over to Mam and take her hand.
"I beat Beth England!"
"You did!" Mam says," I'm so proud of you."
"'Cause London red!"
