I love Nora for having the love interest say "I'm not your answer and you sure as hell aren't mine" to the main character in regards to their trauma and healing. I love her for giving both characters external support systems and healthy relationships outside of each other.

I love that Andrew and Renee are best friends and have been before Neil ever entered the scene. I love that he's an active participant in therapy.

I love that Matt and Neil are best friends and built their friendship prior to Andrew. I love that Dan is protective over him and was the first after Andrew to reach, hug, and talk to Neil both after Baltimore and Riko trying to kill him.

I love that Wymack is an authority figure to them both in different ways. I love that Kevin has equally close but unique relationships with them both. I love that Nicky lowkey adopted Neil as well.

I love that Nora has shown from the GET GO that consistent, enduring love can be/is such an essential part of healing and growth but that it's not exclusive to romance and that platonic and familial love is just as important.

before one of their sessions, Andrew and Bee stop by a coffee shop to grab something warm. while they’re waiting for their drinks, Betsy says she’ll step away for a minute and heads to the restroom, leaving Andrew by the counter. he’s halfway lost in his thoughts when the barista’s voice pulls him back. “Sorry, does your mom want her cocoa lighter or more rich?” for a second, Andrew doesn’t even register that the question is meant for him. he just looks at her as she hovers over the powder, waiting. eventually he snaps back, already knowing Betsy’s preferences after all those sessions. “Lighter,” he says evenly. “Rich for me. Thanks.” he doesn’t say a word to Betsy his mom about the mix-up when she comes back. but he does catch the look the barista gives them when she hands over the cups, something unmistakable in it: What a caring son. Such a sweet relationship with his mom.

Aaron deserves to crash out this Neil deserves to yell at people more that

Nicky Hemmick needs to crash out. Like, in a Huge way. Y'all can't tell me that his 'happy ray of sunshine' attitude has actually fooled you. This man has been kicked out of his Christian family home, ostracised by his parents and only allowed to come back in when he brings his cousins, sent to conversion therapy, finally found the love of his life and then immediately went back home to care for two cousins that have no one to take their anger out on but him, tries to make friends with his other teammates but can't because of their issues with his family, almost had a start at finally fixing his relationship with his parents just for his father to INVITE A RAPIST INTO HIS HOME TO HURT THE COUSIN THAT NICKY HAS LAID HIS LIFE DOWN FOR???!?!?

Like are you kidding me. Nicky loves the twinyards unconditionally, and despite the hard time that they give him, they definitely reciprocate those feelings. (Look at Aaron always running to Nicky when he breaks down. Look at Andrew going to jail and getting put on psychotic meds for him) He finally has a family that is willing to stay no matter what, and then his own parents do That to them. Nicky deserves an ancestral crash out actually. On everybody lmfao

I love that Andrew having been making off-handed comments about Neil to Bee during therapy is 100% canon. I love that in the EC it’s stated that when Andrew STOPPED making these comments, Bee started to suspect that there was more going on. I love it so much.
