En la noche, en la soledad absoluta, ella cuenta las estrellas y espera a que llegue el sueño para dejar de llorar

Llora por un amor que prometió regresar, pero el aullido del viento le grita que ese amor jamás volverá, ella piensa en el mar

El mar que trae el amor y lentamente se lo vuelve a llevar. Algunas persona persiguen a las olas por aferrarse a un amor y terminan ahogadas, pérdidas para siempre en la marea

Y aunque ella no naufragó, se pregunta por qué se siente como si lo hubiera hecho. Entonces siente el calor del amanecer

El cálido abrazo de otra día más, y ella mira como las flores se empiezan a levantar y los pájaros comienzan a cantar

El sol le seca sus lágrimas y la cubre con su manto de luz. De pronto ella sonríe sintiendo una tranquilidad profunda

Es entonces que ella entiende lo nefasto que es llorar por amor, al final es el sentido más bonito que existe y aunque le gente sea pasajera, el amor y sus recuerdos, nunca lo serán

the overwhelming heat is the anxiety

burning inside of me

the gray skies are my sadness

the threat of rain are the tears

wishing to fall from my eyes

it hasn’t rained and I haven’t cried

wandering

between the trees

searching for answers

to unanswerable questions

chasing daylight

after sunset

looking for purpose

in all the wrong places

hoping the colors of dusk

bleed into my skin

and color me whole

to replace fading ink,

remnants of a soul

that’s long left me
