Helloo! My name is Yoyo (he/him) and this is my sideblog of BG3/DnD/Forgotten Realms content starring my group of Tavs/OCs that I decided to be in a big friend group to make things easier/harder for me. I'm very new to DnD and fantasy OC creation in general, so a lot of my content is just vibe-based rather than any care for accurate lore.
The Kindness Girls consists of Mina Minos, Huska Duskfate, Helina, Meekah Duskfate, and Hestia Balfour. The Kindness Girls are adventurers who became close-knit friends after surviving countless adventures together. The name came when Mina suggested that the group of friends be called the Kindness Girls to disarm people, and that they chose to be kind because no one else did when they needed it the most.

The Kindness Girls consists of Mina Minos, Huska, Helina, Meekah, and Hestia Balfour. The Kindness Girls are adventurers who became close-knit friends after surviving countless adventures together. The name came when Mina suggested that the group of friends be called the Kindness Girls to disarm people, and that they chose to be kind because no one else did when they needed it the most. Mina was very drunk when she suggested it, and Hestia and Huska were drunk enough to agree that it was a good idea. The Kindness Girls first met when Mina Minos was 20-years-old in the Elfsong Tavern during her first year of the Barbaric Rites, where it was attacked by shapeshifting Bhaal cultists.
The name is semi-ironic, depending on who you ask. It’s also less of a party name and more just Mina’s friend groups’ group chat name.
Mina: sluggishly “We chose to be kind when nobody else were to us. We the kindness girls.”
Hestia that night: “HAHAHAHA YEAH RIGHT”
the next morning: “Oh you were serious”
Huska: “The sentiment is correct yet I do not feel for the official title”
Helina: “it’s a good name” nods approvingly
Meekah: “Do we really need a name? We’re not a travelling circus.” Later: stabs someone and runs off “KINDNESS GIRLS”
The Tannery Tearoom Jr. is the name of the warehouse that the Kindness Girls set up as their home base. It's located near the docks in Baldur's Gate. They have set it up as a renovated public space that brings good adventurers and those in need of help. The Tannery Tearoom Jr. has a nickname of Triple T.
The first Tannery Tearoom was ironically named by Hestia when she, Huska, and Mina were hiding overnight in an abandoned warehouse in Waterdeep from mercenaries where Hestia was tired said “Finally, the City of Splendors! We’re not hiding in a tannery warehouse we’re staying at the TANNERY TEAROOM the finest establishment in the west!”
Later Mina: “We should head back to the Tannery Tearoom”
Huska Duskfate: age 25, drow, female, gray skin, long side-swept bangs, natural white hair bleached gray and blonde by the sun, dark brown eyes, hulking, muscular, tall, navy blue plate armor, wields greatsword called Moonrise, ornate jewelled circlet enchanted for smite power instead of helmet, cute round face, soft calm voice, 201cm
Class: Paladin
Personality: stoic to strangers, warm, compassionate, loyal, resilient
Background:
- Younger sister of Meekah Duskfate
- Paladin of Selûne
- Greatsword given to her by the temple inherited from a retired paladin.
- Adopted with Meekah by Selûnite half-elves Kalvar and Lariel in Rivington.
- Born from House Baenre as Yaseari Baenre, Meekah was abandoned to the surface at age 5 alongside Huska, who was a newborn.
- Adopted parents are old but alive, living in a cottage in Rivington
- Pet orange cat named Mooch who lives with her parents in Rivington.
- Speaks formally with little to no contractions. Manner of speech born from social awkwardness and nerdiness, disguised as stoic and formal speech.
Which Tav do you want to know more about? Because I realized I’ve been very Mina-focused from my excitement I didn’t really get to talk about the others as much.
As per @grotesquethegargoyle's request, here's Hestia Balfour's OC Grid Template
1. An item they would wear: Floppy Hat. She wears the Floppy Hat at all time whenever she's Hestia Balfour the performer/adventurer.
2. A texture in their signature color: Forest green silk.
Hestia: "FEEL IT MINA IT'S SILK"
Mina: "I'm feeling it"
Hestia: "IT'S SILK I LOVE SILK SO MUCH IT'S SO SMOOTH"
3. An animal that suits their personality: Siamese cat. Striking, intelligent, incredibly neurotic
4. An environment that captures their story: The stage. Hestia is meant to be performing on the stage not fighting Myrkul and she will tell you that the whole time.
5. The Character: Hestia Balfour, born Ellifain Nimesin, troubadour of the Sword Coast and the Straightest Woman in Faerûn™
6. An object in their bag: Kohl eyeliner. You can never have enough kohl.
7. An interest of theirs: Applause. She will do anything as long as she gets an audience. She's a bard, vanity is part of the class.
8.An abstraction that captures their vibe: Says it on the tin.
9. A food or beverage they enjoy: Kaeth, or coffee. She had a cup in Waterdeep and never looked back.
Hopping on the Random Asks for your BG3 or DnD Character survey by @knightofbhaal! Next up is the most reasonable bard in existence Hestia Balfour:
1. How important is your character’s race (e.g. human, drow, aasimar) to them/their story? Does it inform who they are, or is it more incidental? Hestia Balfour being a high elf originally was just me wanting to try elf out. Then I realized that Hestia Balfour was not an elf name and instead of changing the name I made an elaborate backstory about why she’s called Hestia Balfour as a high elf who is born in Outer City, Baldur’s Gate and integrated into the culture against her parents’ wishes.
2. How or why did you choose your character’s class(es)? I wanted to try bard as a class option and heard that Swords Bard is OP. Being someone who had never played DnD before or know anything about the classes besides what’s on the description on BG3 I thought, “What would a professional performer react to world-ending stakes?” and the answer was “Not well”, and thus neurotic bard was born.
3. Has your character ever had a day job unrelated to their class? If no, what do you think they’d be suited for? Hestia’s class is her day job, it’s just that her day job didn’t have defeating the Dead Three in her itinerary.
4. In a world full of both mortals and functional immortals, how does your character feel about their age and lifespan? Does this affect their relationship with other characters? Hestia being someone who grew up in human culture means that she lives life as fast a human and married the human wizard Gale Dekarios and she has not thought about when the time comes because she’s too busy not dying. Her parents, on the other hand, are simply waiting for Hestia to finish her “phase”.
5. Where is your character from? How do they feel about that place now? Hestia’s from Outer City but her parents are from whatever elven realm they fled from. Hestia’s parents named her Ellifain Nimesin and were court musicians before the ruler was overthrown and they fled to Baldur’s Gate. Hestia grew up being forced to learn elven music when she wanted to play the folk music outside her window. Hestia has no attachments with the elven realm as her only childhood experience is her strict “Joe Jackson” parents.
6. What is something surprising that your character is good at? Hestia is really good at following fashion trends. She reads whatever women’s newspaper/newsletter on the latest colors and silhouettes on fashion, then decides to stick to green. The Straightest Woman in Faerûn, they would call her.
7. What is a minor or mundane flaw your character has? (e.g. bad music taste, rude to service employees) Hestia is a massive hypocrite because she does so many folk songs about being working class and of the people then use Mina’s noble privilege to get access to places then giggle to herself like “Hehe I’m from Outer City” like she’s not supposed to be here.
8. Does your character have a best friend in the party? Who is it, and why do they get along? Mina Minos. See above. Or it’s Gale and the two of them just charm each other and never stop talking.
9. Everyone loves a (usually tragic) backstory. In as few words as possible, what’s theirs? Elf Woman Michael Jackson.
10. What’s one irrelevant detail about your character that will never come up in-game/writing/etc but you love anyway? Hestia will rant about other elves whenever she gets the chance.
Hopping on the Random Asks for your BG3 or DnD Character survey by @knightofbhaal! Next up is the shy Durge Helina:
1. How important is your character’s race (e.g. human, drow, aasimar) to them/their story? Does it inform who they are, or is it more incidental? Helina being a tiefling was purely based on me wanting to try out tiefling after human and drow. The Bhaalspawn race was just the Dark Urge.
2. How or why did you choose your character’s class(es)? I interpreted Bhaalspawn as someone who’d want to see violence up close, and that was the class that felt made sense like pre-tadpole Helina would want to kill people with her own hands out of curiosity.
3. Has your character ever had a day job unrelated to their class? If no, what do you think they’d be suited for? Helina post-BG3 and redemption decided to retire from adventuring and become a massage therapist because her desire to be hands on with people is still there, but just through hugs and massages :))). She’d still throw down if someone needs help.
4. In a world full of both mortals and functional immortals, how does your character feel about their age and lifespan? Does this affect their relationship with other characters? I assume that Helina, since she’s a Bhaalspawn in the form of a tiefling, would have an unusually large lifespan. She’s very gentle with people and spends her new life “wanting to be a person” by SEEKING EMPLOYMENT LOL
5. Where is your character from? How do they feel about that place now? Lower City. She used to sleep in the sewers and abandoned warehouses. She’s nice now that she has the Kindness Girls to bunk at :).
6. What is something surprising that your character is good at? Helina is very sensitive to smell so she’d sniff everything she gets her hands on. She loves learning about different soap and herbal scents as a bathhouse massage therapist.
7. What is a minor or mundane flaw your character has? (e.g. bad music taste, rude to service employees) Helina keeps wandering off during group conversations because she got distracted by something.
8. Does your character have a best friend in the party? Who is it, and why do they get along? KARLACH surprisingly as one tiefling and one faux-tiefling. Helina is able to receive Karlach completely as someone who wants to experience living as much as possible.
9. Everyone loves a (usually tragic) backstory. In as few words as possible, what’s theirs? See: The Dark Urge and also this.
10. What’s one irrelevant detail about your character that will never come up in-game/writing/etc but you love anyway? My headcanon is that Helina has crow eyes when she smiles.
