In A Land Of Snarky Dragons

Merlin is living the best life, learning how to raise dragons from his dragonlord father, Balinor, on their farm. This teenager has not a care in the world (magic is legal) until the local druids pay a visit. Merlin is not happy to discover he has a destiny featuring another person he’s never met. Once and future king his arse, not on his farm. Ignoring the prophecy with the mystery no named future king, Merlin tries to pretend everything is fine.

However, one giant, scaled, slightly bored troublemaker named, Kilgharrah, decides that this prophecy of destiny and kings is the perfect adventure to get his blood pumping. So the great dragon does what he does best, and proceeds to stir the proverbial pot.

Cue, kidnappings, rescues, attempted coups, and a fair amount of dragons all to keep destiny on track.

Summary/Excerpt:

Being the thirteenth in line for the throne of Niflheim was bad enough. However, add the complication of being a rare omegan male to the mix and things were downright terrible. Prompto had a small dream to sit on the throne one day if only to prove his worth. He knew he couldn’t do it alone so he decides his best option is to hire a brilliant advisor to guide him to the top.

The issue being the advisor he really wants is already employed by the prince of Lucis, Noctis Lucis Caelum. He also has to get over his innate fear of alphas since as it turns out the advisor is a rather intimidating one.

Will Prompto ever get the chance to rise in his position or will he be stuck at the bottom forever?

Watered Down

Unfortunately for him, Merlin is the ‘stickler for rules’ inspector sent out to give him permits and such. What follows may or may not be the worst battle of wills ever conducted. After some mishaps, including a terrible contractor (Cenred), a few misunderstandings, annoying delays, and a near-death experience they do that wonderful enemies to lovers thing. I'm gonna be a little nutty here, but your recent post about Arthur waking up 1000's of years later and freaking out until he finds Merlin is just so good. I wanna write a thing about it, but I wanted to see if you were cool with me using your prompt? If you were gonna do something with it I didn't want to overstep.

First of all, thank you so much for the amazing compliment! I honestly didn't think much would come out of that post so *shyly rubs the back of neck*

Secondly, I don't mind you using it as a prompt for a fic or something. I'm too much of a lazy ass to write anything myself and having someone write a good fic about this would be amazing! So go for it!

I loved your fic and now i’m so curious about the ending. I don’t own the game so i’m waiting for everyone to finish and talk about it. lol

haha thanks! There are lots of youtube commentors out there discussing the ending, though I haven’t watched any myself. (I’m just screaming with some friends in our discord chat.) I’ll say I spent the entire final boss sequence shrieking at my fiance in disbelief, then spent the rest of the night screaming about the ending. XD

I do like it overall and I’m deeply, deeply curious to see where they take it - but then, given the fic I wrote, I might be biased >.>

I’m pretty sure the remake only exists because Sephiroth willed himself into the real world and demanded it.

so legit, because my brain Works Like That, before the remake came out I was actually jokingly noodling over a scenario where pre-Crisis Core Sephiroth was the one who landed in Kate’s reality and learned about what happens in the OG and that the remake was going to be released soon, so I guess it’s my fault? XD
