Apparently Reggie Is A Top

How do we all feel about this?

Since we don’t get enough about Reggie and Alex’s backstories, I decided to write my own. So, to start, here’s my headcanons for Reggie:

Reggie:

His dad was in a rock band in his early 20s that was steadily gaining fame in the US

His mom was a groupie 

They were together for a little over a year when she got pregnant with Reggie

They both had to give up their dreams to raise him

They got married shortly thereafter but were never truly happy together after that

Reggie is named after his father Reginald I

His parents only ever called him Reggie to avoid confusion

They loved Reggie but were never meant to be parents so young--or with each other at all

Reggie’s earliest memories are his parents arguing 

Reggie got along well with his parents one-on-one

Reggie’s dad introduced him to rock 

Some of his fondest memories are of his father teaching him his first chords on guitar

His mother was always super supportive of his music

His parents tried their best but would often fall short, forgetting to pick him up from music lessons, stumbling in late to parent teacher conferences, and paying more attention to their personal arguments than him sometimes

They’d often take out their grievances on Reggie, their anger with each other projecting onto him

Reggie would get really conflicted when his parents would complain about each other to him, not sure who he should believe

He learned to fend for himself early on

He was the friend that was always over someone else’s house after school and tried to go home as late as possible 

Luke learned to ask Reggie everyday if he wanted to come over so he wouldn’t feel rude asking all the time

Bobby’s family were also incredibly accommodating, letting him take the leftovers home when he stayed for dinner

His love-hate relationship with his parents created some abandonment issues 

He gets anxious when the band fights because he doesn’t want them to end up falling a part like his parents

They become like his family, always looking out for him

When Luke runs away, Reggie keeps him company late into the night since his parents won’t notice he’s gone

He ends up spending more time at the studio than he does at home

After his death, he wonders if his parents were relieved he was gone so they could finally break up

He hopes they are happier without him but he also misses them terribly

He tends to remember the good moments over the bad

He wants to go find them to see how they are doing but he doesn’t know where to look and he’s kind of afraid of what he might find

He loves spending time with Ray because it’s the stable father figure he’s always wanted

He begins to think of Carlos as his little brother, finding a healthy new family to be a part of 

He isn’t really bothered by the fact that they can’t see him because that’s what he’d used to even before his death

Reggie realizes he’s bi only after death when it hits him that his feelings for Luke weren’t just brotherly love

He’s just happy to be with his friends and new family where he feels loved and protected

That’s all for now. I’d love to write a Reggie fic someday. Would love to hear others’ headcanons. I will be making one for Alex soon!

My thoughts on the relationships in jatp and how I want them to turn out:

We deserve aro rep, and I think Julie could fit the role: she gets crushes on people after Flynn already had a crush on them, and she has a really strong level of platonic feeling towards Flynn and the Phantoms and I see her interaction with Luke and to me it honestly screams qpr. Romantic favorable aro Julie is what I need in life, I know basically all of you out there think she's bi but hey it's my aro hc and I get to choose the characters.

Bi Reggie. We all know it. I've said enough.

Willie and Alex, of they're not together anytime soon I'll riot

Flynn and Carrie together, I'd really like Carrie to be a big closeted lesbeen and we already got all sorts of hints that Flynn might be mspec (honestly it's just the using "them" instead of "him" in flying solo but that's a big hint to me)

Pan Luke. He gives off big panic vibes. He's pan. I don't make the rules.

The GSA

A big thank you to @orgyofthelord for the idea for this one! it was fun to write after my firs fic got really sad. I hope you enjoy it! 

Prompt:   Julie taking Alex to gsa and maybe Reggie too

Julie smiles as she leads Alex and Reggie down one of the hallways of her school. To show Alex that a lot has changed for the lgbtq+ community, she decided to bring him to one of her school’s GSA meetings. 

“Julie you really don't have to do this for me,” Alex says with an unsure tone in his voice as they stop in front of one of the class rooms.

“Don’t be silly Alex,” she replies soothingly, “this is what friends do for each other.”

“Yeah man, come on, I’m sure it’s gonna be great!” Reggie pats him on the shoulder.

Julie opens the door and they walk in to find a random assortment of Julie’s schoolmates sitting in a circle and talking. No one really takes notice of their presence there, until one girl looks up and sees Julie. 

“Oh, hi Julie! We didn’t know anyone else would be showing up today,” the girl smiles, then she gets up to grab a chair for Julie. 

“Oh yeah, I wasn’t exactly sure if I was coming or not,” she replies as she takes the chair from the girl.

“Well we’re happy you could join us,” the girl smiles again before turning to the rest of the group, “ Right everyone?”

There are miscellaneous ‘yeah’s’ and ‘oh,hey’s’ from the rest of the group who were still going about their own conversations. Julie looks over to see Alex and Reggie listening to a few people pretty intently. Happy with herself that they were getting to see what teenagers now, other than herself and Flynn were like. 

“So,” Julie turns to the girl, “what were you guys talking about today?” she questions. 

“We were actually going to discuss what we were all going to do for our next charity fundraiser,” the girl replies. 

“That’s really cool,” Julie smiles, and then an idea pops into her head, “You know what? How about we do a show for the fundraiser!” she says excitedly, looking over to the boys for confirmation.Reggie and Alex look at each other for a second and then give her the thumbs up. 

“Really? That would be great! Thank you so much Julie, you have no idea how much that means to us,” the girl says excitedly and hugs Julie. 

“It’s really our pleasure, our drummer is gay so I know it would be something special for him too,” Julie reassures her as she pulls away from the hug. 

“Yeah it’d be really cool to do a gig for charity,” Reggie says as he and Alex pop up next to her, making her jump a little. 

“Totally, and Luke will definitely be on board too,” Alex nods. 

“It's really so kind of you Julie,” the girl smiles before turning to the rest of the group, “Hey everyone, Julie and the Phantoms are going to play for the fundraiser!” She announces.

Everyone cheers and says thank yous from their seats. As Julie awkwardly smiles and nods and gives a little wave. 

“Well I had a great time popping by, but I better go so I can let the boys know about this,” smiles and stands to leave. 

“Oh yeah, come back any time, and I’ll let you know soon about when the fundraiser is,” the girl waves as Julie walks to the door. 

Julie gives her a small wave back in acknowledgement before leaving the room and closes the door behind her. She leads Reggie and Alex down the hall a ways before finally breaking the silence.

“So, did you guys learn anything new?” she asks them. 

“I finally learned what woke means,” Alex smiles. 

“I learned that it’s perfectly normal for a guy to like both guys and girls , and that there’s a word for it.” Reggie says matter of factly. 

Julie just face palms as she leads them out of the school.
