Call me Moses the way that bush tells me what to do
HELP. I need somebody to talk me out of what is probably a horrible idea.
I’ve been coming up with a Boiling Isles capital city. Real life capital cities are not only federal buildings. There would be some sort of town to support the people working in the castle and the Conformatorium. I need to know what that that town is like for my Darius/Hunter’s predecessor backstory.
I started thinking about what Belos would call a capital city. I was thinking along the line of religious references. The suffix “minster” is a community of clergy, “stow” is a religious meeting place, something along those lines. Actually naming the city after himself goes against his whole “humble servant of the Titan” thing.
My other line of thinking was some sort of sick inside joke that makes it plainly obvious what Belos is up to, but nobody in the Boiling Isles would understand. This is a man who named at least one clone of his disavowed witch hunter brother “HUNTER.” This is not a man who does subtlety.
Anyway, I am seriously about to name this town Babylon unless somebody can talk me out of it. Can somebody tell me if a 14 year old like Luz would actually recognize the titan-sized red flag that name would be? I was raised fundie. I do not have a frame of reference for what weird Bible lore is normal knowledge for a teen. MAYBE Eda would have heard the term when she was bouncing around the Human Realm, but I’m not sure I can convince myself of that either.
I am already writing Camila as having been raised Catholic enough to have the knowledge to recognize the red flags. This wouldn’t be the only disturbing Bible reference in this fic, and somebody needs to get the “joke” and be disturbed by it. That said, she probably wouldn’t know the town was named that until Belos being a bad dude was widely known. Vee probably didn’t go into that sort of detail about her past.
“How did the sin in the passage either hurt the person’s relationship with others or with God?
It severely hurt his relationship with his brother, as he had no more brother.”
this bible study stuff is so easy
Do y'all think anyone ever went:
Kinger: “Caine. Where is your brother Abel?”
Gangle: “He was RIGHT HERE.”
Jax: “Bro’s acting like he didn’t just delete him.”
Caine: “I DIDN’T DELETE ANYONE.”
Blue Dot: *distant corrupted Windows XP startup noise*
(Genesis 4:9-4:10 is the inspo btw)
(Also I have NEVER seen TADC by the way, I'm just bored!)
