My name is EbonyJanice. Janice sounds like Peace. I appreciate all the new folk in my space. I talk abt race sometimes but I’m a #HipHopWomanist so my activism and ministry center black Women, and Hip Hop. Anyone else who benefits beyond that is a bonus. Black women deserve safe space! I was thinking abt how I wld like to introduce myself to the 3500+ new followers today and there is nothing that I want to say more than I actually listen to black music, I don’t just skim through it. . . . Sincerely. Honestly. Truly. ------------- I committed to really doing #HipHopWomanist work in 2017 and creating more discussion and conversation around the #ethics of including #hiphop in a discussion of #wisdom, #wholeness (#holiness), #salvation, worth, and even what is #righteous. || It is tough sometimes because tho my #PreachEb videos are fun and even #funny from time to time... the amount of work and thought I put into #consistently finding wisdom and #scripture in something that most people skim thru (cause do you listen to #music or do you just skim thru it?) can be really overlooked, I think. Its actually kind of #brilliant, #genius, and #magical. || I mean think about it... I legit am #RapGenius hyperlinking in these #BibleStudyWith videos M-F here on my IG - breaking down lyrics, finding truth, interpreting line by line in a way that is kind of amazing. || It is #anthropology. It is #ethnography. It is #academic. It is #citation worthy. It is #ministry. It is #sermonic. It is #exegesis. It is all of that. And I'm just here to say... mark my word... PreachEb gonna be #worldwide and taken serious in several spaces #academic, #secular, #spiritual, and #religious... and you gonna be like... - Issa #Manifestation - Issa #Affirmation - Issa #Declaration || 👩🏾‍💻😏 I'm telling you what I know. #TrueStory... I plan my #PreachEb videos a month in advance. So I write the copy for them and (for the most part) I have multiple artists' #hiphopbiblestudy filmed at one time just waiting to be posted. This weeks #BibleStudyWith was gonna be featuring #nickiminaj. And then #ShEther happened and it just feels like not the right time. So next weeks was gonna be #MeekMill... and (heavy sigh) I be rooting for him but that also doesn't feel appropriate right now. And the other two that are in the works... just not the best timing. But you know who should have beeeeeeeen had her own series? @missymisdemeanorelliott || I been tripping but I hurried up and filmed these for this week because #MissyElliott. End of sentence!
