Pocket Sandwiches

Another episode of Goth Girl Can Cook, Pocket Sandwich edition. I made bierock dough, but filled it with a Cornish pasty filling of ground beef, onion, potatoes, carrots, and peas. I seasoned the filling with salt, pepper, garlic, and paprika. Simple, but tasty. I made these fairly large. I could have made 8, but I made 6

One of the biggest culture shocks for me when going to a different state for college was that bierocks are not a common thing?? Like people don't have homemade bierocks at their local delis and shit, and honestly that is so sad. bierocks are so good.

This is an old German recipe handed down from generation to generation, using foods grown or raised on the family farm. I remember helping my grandmother make these when I could barely see over the kitchen table!—Ellen Batt, Hoisington, Kansas
