Lettuce to Skip Summer Camp
- Band cites “COVID exposure internally” in last-minute cancelation
Lettuce will not perform as scheduled at Summer Camp tonight due to what the funk band termed “a COVID exposure internally.”
It’s unclear whether a band or crew member was exposed and there is no mention of a positive COVID-19 test - or additional acts in quarantine - in the statement, which reads:
“We have decided to cancel our show tonight (Aug. 20) at Summer Camp due to a COVID exposure internally. It is of utmost importance that we take all of the necessary precautions to keep our fans, band, crew and festival staff safe. We are following all of the proper guidelines.”
Big Something and Papadosio previously dropped out of the Illinois festival because of positive COVID-19 tests in their ranks.
“We can’t wait to get back out there with you all,” said Lettuce, next scheduled to perform Aug. 27 in Virginia. “Stay safe! Lettuce loves you.”

CELLIST ALISA WEILERSTEIN HAS COVID: California’s La Jolla Music Society canceled its Aug. 17 concert and is testing all staff and crew after cellist Alisa Weilerstein tested positive for COVID-19, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Weilerstein is fully vaccinated. The pending tests will help determine how the society proceeds with concerts scheduled for the rest of the week.
KORN/STAIND CANCEL/POSTPONE AUGUST DATES AS JONATHAN DAVIS RECOVERS FROM COVID: Korn and Staind canceled two New York concerts and postponed six more as Korn frontman Jonathan Davis recovers from COVID-19.
“As always, our primary goal is to ensure the safety of everyone involved, so this is something that has to be done,” the groups said. “Jonathan’s spirits are high, and he’s resting and recovering now.”
The tour - on hiatus since Aug. 14 - is to resume Sept. 25 in Pennsylvania.
BLACKBERRY SMOKE PLANS RETURN: With two crew members positive for COVID-19 and recovering at home and guitarist Paul Jackson still on the mend, Blackberry Smoke now plans to restart its tour - idle since Aug. 10 - Aug. 19 in Ohio.
The band “plan(s) to continue our shows from there as scheduled,” per a statement.
