Upon seeing a "pancake" cooked in a rice cooker
Felix: well now its just a regular cake.
Rizz: no its still a pancake. Its just a cake that fills the whole pan.
Felix, Jaime: NO.
Rizz: Yes it is.
Jaime: Rizz... What do you call the thing you put cake batter in?
Rizz: a pan.
Jaime: Exactly.
Rizz: yeah its just a cake... wait.
All of us: *cracks up*
I want to join the NDP and help support them, but I'm confused about the difference between the provincial NDP and the federal NDP. Do I have to join each separately, or is joining one the same as joining both?
NDP is unique in that the federal and provincial party’s are linked.
If you join the Federal NDP you’ll also be registered for the NDP in your province or territory if it exists.

lmao
okay.
May I ask for your thoughts on the leader of the BC NDP, John Horgan?
I think he’s pretty likeable, and reasonable.
He comes across as a bit of a centrist as far as NDP leaders go, but if he’s capable of beating the BC Liberals that’s ok to me. Its going to take a lot of effort to repeal some of the BC Liberals’ regressive laws. Even if progress is slower than normal, its good that it happens.
But it is encouraging that when confronted on issues, and public pressure he has changed his mind. He’s also been open to big ‘Bernie Sanders’ style changes to government and has asked the public for suggestions of what they’d like him to do. Listening to people directly and asking for big policy ideas is a very good sign.
He has put forward some big ideas as well ($10 a day childcare, $15/hour minimum wage, implementing the UN declaration of the rights of indigenous people, banning corporate donations, etc).
Unlike the last BC NDP leader he’s also been actively challenging the BC Liberals’ policies (not doing so is a large reason that they lost last election).
for the autumn asks: cozy sweaters and beanies?
I wish capes would come back into fashion. Ponchos are nice but it’s not the same.
Beanies: If I had to pick a different prized possession, my bracelet. It’s the only piece of jewelry I wear every day.
