WIP Wednesday

Big/Pete, follow-up to Sweetest Downfall (Pete/Kinn, post-Tawan)

Big doesn't look like he feels better, but he looks pleasantly distracted. It's nice. Pete's always enjoyed taking care of people. "Can I kiss you?" 

"No," Big says, shifting, rolling away from Pete. He stands, and then places a hand on Pete's chest and pushes Pete back against the couch. His eyes are downcast but there's a slight happy tilt to his lips as he crawls into Pete's lap.

In between one breath and the next he's straddling Pete. In another breath his arms wrap around Pete's shoulders, and in a third breath Big's face nuzzles against Pete's, cheek to cheek, forehead to forehead, breathing each other's breath. "No. You can't kiss me. I want to kiss you." 

"Please," Pete whispers, entire body buzzing with need.

Pieter 'Big Pete' van der Pluijm in Haarlem Blues Club

Het werd hoog tijd dat we Pieter 'Big Pete' van der Pluijm naar Haarlem haalden. Deze gepassioneerde zanger/harmonicaspeler is al dik een decennium een gevestigde naam. Hij levert zijn muziek af met een no-nonsense attitude waar je gewoon lekker op gaat. Niet voor niets was Big Pete dan ook een vast onderdeel van de theatershow van Johan Derksen genaamd 'The sound of Blues & Americana', die halverwege 2022 tot een eind kwam. Daarnaast zullen velen van jullie hem ook kennen van de door hem nieuw leven ingeblazen topact Red Devils, waarmee hij als support act van ZZ-Top door heel Europa tourde. Ja, Van der Pluijm is een ijzersterke frontman en vertegenwoordiger van de Nederlandse blues scene in binnen- en buitenland. Voor de show in Haarlem neemt hij dezelfde all-star band mee die voorheen exclusief te zien was tijdens Derksen's theatertour. De pompende ritmetandem van Fokke de Jong op drums met Roelof Klijn op bas vormen de motor van deze band. Deze ervaren gasten weten die groove spannend te houden als geen ander. Wat te denken van Sander Kooiman op gitaar (o.a. Drippin' Honey) en de geweldige Roel Spanjers (o.a. Malford Milligan & the Southern Aces, Frédérique Spigt en talloze Amerikanen die hij begeleid heeft in de loop der jaren), die overigens al eerder te zien is geweest bij Haarlem Blues Club. Namelijk met zijn New Orleans Vintage Voodoo Piano solo show en in oktober 2022 ook met Sunset Travelers. Info Zaterdag 21 januari 2023. De deuren gaan open om 19:30 en showtime is 20:30.
